We know that older adults who identify as Latinx and Black have a higher lifetime risk of dementia than older adults who identify as White, 1.5 and 2 times higher, respectively.

This makes it more important that we are able to detect and address dementia early and competently, especially in communities who are more affected. An early detection approach can reduce disparities, and Dementia Care Aware is working with health systems to ensure early detection is available by providing professionals with essential tools and training.

Enroll in our cognitive health assessment training course at www.DementiaCareAware.org to learn how to screen and reduce disparities in dementia detection. Free CE/CME and MOC!
