"This is my Martin Freeman piece. Again a Misfit. The bold colors can hold their own next to my shelves full of art books, art, camera’s and bins. It also plays well Jeremy Novy”s skate deck. Once I put it up I realized bold the colors is and love how the piece glistens in the light."

Today we celebrate Harvey Milk Day by honoring the life, courage, and enduring legacy of Harvey Milk , a trailblazer whose voice helped change history. As one of the first openly gay elected officials in the U.S., Harvey Milk showed the power of visibility, community, and hope in the face of injustice. His message still reminds us to stand proudly, speak boldly, and keep pushing for a more inclusive future. 💪🏽❤️🕊️🏳️‍🌈

"Being major Sam Hunt fans, we had our eyes on his work for three years running at Art For AIDS. Sam’s paintings were always in the LIVE Auction and always created bidding wars. Two years ago, this painting was in the Silent Auction and fortunately we got our high bid in at the very last moment. All good things…"

"I bid on this piece as a gift for my young daughter because it is colorful, playful, and tactile. This beautiful art is hung on the wall right next to family pictures, reflecting back and forth all the joy we bring to each other. It’s also a gift to be reminded each time I look at it of the special community that is AHP!"

❤️ 40 Years. One Community. Still Walking. 👟

For decades, our community has shown up with courage, compassion, and commitment—and now it’s your turn.

On July 19, join us for the 40th Anniversary of AIDS Walk San Francisco—a powerful day of remembrance, resilience, and action. This isn’t just a walk—it’s a movement to honor lives, celebrate progress, and help end the HIV epidemic.

💥 Our goal: $20,000 to support HIV prevention, care, and mental health services.

✨ As a proud co-beneficiary, AHP saw 100% of funds raised returned to teams in 2025—plus additional grants. Let’s do it again—and go even further.

Because of this community, lives have been saved. Stigma has been challenged. Hope continues to grow.

👉 Sign up today. Join the Alliance Health Project team.(🔗Link in bio)
Walk with us. Fundraise with us. Make an impact.

Let’s make history—together.

"This long-exposure night photograph—a battered vintage trailer set against a desert landscape—is by Manu and Greta Schnetzler, longtime and much-loved contributors to Art for AIDS. Printed on metal at 36” x 48”, it has a quiet, luminous presence that draws you in. Look closely and you can see how the long exposure captures the earth’s movement as the stars appear to shift overhead.

I first saw it years ago in the Art for AIDS Live Auction. A spirited bidding war broke out, and the price quickly climbed well beyond its retail value. That was the moment it captured my heart—but there was no way I could follow it there.

Years later, when I retired from UCSF Alliance Health Project, my coworkers surprised me in the most generous way—they purchased a print directly from the Schnetzlers. Manu Schnetzler hung it in my flat.

Now it hangs in my dining area, and every time I pass it, I’m reminded not just of the image itself, but of the community behind it.

I’m also fortunate to have a Diane Hoffman sculpture form the Misfit Auction and DK Haas encaustic bird print, lower right.

That’s what makes Art for AIDS so special—art that stays with you, and a community that shows up for one another."
