Whatever happens with the COVID $ I'm lifting up our Staff who carried the work of COVID- pictured here are just a few our team members who helped make it all happen and when I say it all - this is what I mean!
This is not even everything but just some of highlighted work:
Over the last 18 months (Jan 2021 - present), Rafiki Coalition for Health and Wellness has consistently provided COVID prevention, risk-reduction outreach, health education, and promotion to vulnerable racial/ethnic populations in Bayview Hunters Point. Rafiki has achieved the outcomes below: Supported community mobile, roving, and at least 21 stationary DPH site testing events per month.
Provided face-to-face outreach and pre and post test counseling to over 50,000 individuals tested and 10,000 vaccinated at DPH sponsored neighborhood sites (Bayview Opera House, 1800 Oakdale, 155 Jennings, and 90 Kiska).
Expanded vaccine engagement across the 4 neighborhood testing and vaccination sites, mobile events, and Rafiki sponsored programming.
Developed and routinely updated community oriented social media marketing campaigns to cover vaccine hesitancy, COVID prevention tips, facts about COVID transmission, and Bayview specific case counts.
To ensure community access to services, Rafiki maintained partnerships with 4 well-respected community organizations (Bayview YMCA, YCD, San Francisco AAFBC and BSOTC) that provided social marketing support, targeted outreach to youth and elderly groups experiencing high rates of COVID transmission and testing site support to Rafiki staff.
Provided almost 1,200 positive clients with supportive after-care services such as home based deliveries of essential items (PPE, cleaning supplies, hygiene products and groceries for up to 2 weeks) to facilitate safe isolation and quarantine.
Offered referrals to community resources for COVID recovery to over 20,000 clients.
Beginning in February 2022, Rafiki also began distribution of rapid test kits to community leaders and residents. To date, we have distributed over 8,000 tests.
Submitted detailed monthly reports to DPH to document successes, challenges, and collaboration strategies to share with other CBO’s
