Did you know it’s completely normal to feel extra thirsty while breastfeeding?

That sudden wave of thirst when your baby latches is triggered by oxytocin, the same hormone that causes your milk to let down. It helps your body shift into milk-making mode by encouraging hydration and milk flow.

Your body is using fluid to produce milk, so staying hydrated is important — but you don’t need to overdo it. Just drink to thirst and keep a water bottle nearby during feeds.

Getting a fussy baby to latch can be tough, especially when they are overstimulated or overtired. Here are a few gentle, evidence-informed tips that can help:

• Try skin to skin first. Calm your baby by placing them belly to belly with you. This helps regulate their breathing and stress hormones.
• Use movement. Rocking, swaying, or walking can help soothe a baby’s nervous system.
• Offer the breast before they’re too hungry. Early feeding cues are easier to work with than crying.
• Try a laid-back nursing position. Gravity can help, and babies often latch more easily this way.
• Hand express a little milk first. The smell and taste can encourage them to latch.
• Stay calm. Babies feel your stress, so give yourself a deep breath too.

These strategies are supported by research into infant reflexes, skin-to-skin contact, and the neurobiology of breastfeeding. You’re not doing anything wrong—sometimes babies just need a little extra support.

If you could teleport anywhere right now, where would you go?

Back to bed? Somewhere warm and quiet? A kid-free grocery run?
Or maybe just into the arms of someone who gets it.

Tell me where you’d land. I want to hear your answers 💭👇

Worried your baby isn’t getting enough milk?

Here’s what I look for:

✔ Nursing at least 8 times in 24 hours
✔ 5 or more wet diapers a day
✔ Soft yellow p**p
✔ Weight gain and a content baby after feeds

But if your baby is nursing all the time, seems fussy after every feed, or your ni***es are cracked and sore, it’s worth checking in.

You do not have to figure this out alone.

If something feels off, trust your gut. I’m here to help.

Book a virtual visit and let’s make sure feeding is going well for both of you.

If you’ve ever reheated your coffee 3 times and still didn’t finish it…
You’re my kind of people ☕💁‍♀️

Motherhood is wild. One minute you’re wiping noses, the next you’re negotiating with a tiny human about why pants are not optional.

Tag a mama who gets it.
You’re doing better than you think 💗

Breastfeeding helps your uterus shrink back to its pre-pregnancy size more quickly. This is because breastfeeding stimulates the release of oxytocin, a hormone that causes uterine contractions. These contractions help reduce postpartum bleeding and support the uterus as it returns to its original size.

According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, this natural response not only supports healing but also strengthens the bond between mother and baby through the hormonal feedback loop created by breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding doesn’t always click right away. And that’s not your fault.

You and your baby are learning how to do this together. It takes time, patience, and sometimes a little help.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, in pain, or just unsure if things are going right, I want you to know you are not alone.

There is no one size fits all feeding journey. And there is no shame in needing support.

Whether you are breastfeeding, pumping, supplementing, or doing all three, you are showing up, and that matters.

I am here when you are ready. Virtual lactation support is available, no matter where you live.

You are not failing. You are adjusting.

Your body is healing. Your baby is learning. You are figuring things out in real time with little sleep, big emotions, and so much love.

It is okay to cry. It is okay to feel lost sometimes. That does not mean you are doing it wrong.

You are not behind. You are not broken. You are in a new season, and it is okay to need support.

Please hear this: You are doing an incredible job. Even on the hard days. Especially on the hard days.

And you do not have to go through this alone.

I am here when you need me.

Your breast size may increase by 1 to 2 cup sizes during pregnancy due to hormonal changes that help prepare your body for milk production.

This growth is mostly from increased blood flow, glandular tissue development, and fluid retention.

According to research published in the Journal of Human Lactation, the breast undergoes structural changes as early as the first trimester to support lactation after birth. These changes are one of the earliest signs that your body is preparing to nourish your baby.
