Dear Needle Players,

I hope this message finds you well. I am posting today to share some changes happening at my practice that directly impact you, as you've been an integral part of Needle Play Acupuncture.

After careful consideration, I have decided to officially close my Berkeley location. Additionally, I will be reducing the availability of the San Francisco location to a more limited schedule. While this decision was not made lightly, it is a necessary step as I adapt to evolving circumstances.

Although our physical locations may be changing, please know that my dedication to your health remains unwavering. I will continue to offer private treatments by appointment only, with availability on select Saturdays. This adjustment allows me to maintain a personalized and focused approach to your care.

Your well-being is incredibly important to me, and I am here for you whenever you need support or guidance. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns during this transition.

It’s Feel Good Friday!!

Here are two questions I have gotten from some of my patients and I wanted to give other folx an opportunity to share their stories.

1️⃣ What's been your experience with western medical care concerning transgender health?
👨🏾‍⚕️ My experience with western medicine wasn't great and is one of the reasons I became a doctor. I want to provide the type of care I found extremely difficult to find.

2️⃣ Ever been misgendered or not taken seriously in a medical setting?
👨🏾‍⚕️ I used to get misgendered all the time. Even on the day of gender-affirming surgery. In a medical setting, especially with something as intimate and intense as surgery, it is incredibly harmful to misgender someone who is entrusting you with their care. It is really important for me to help prepare folx for surgery not only physically, but emotionally and mentally as well.
