Residents at Coterie gathered to observe Passover together with rabbi-led services reflecting on the significance of the holiday. Family members joined for a Passover Seder featuring traditional courses including matzah, karpas and charoset followed by a delicious meal.ch.

Residents and their families gathered at our communities to celebrate Easter.

At Coterie Hudson Yards, a special Mass set a meaningful tone for the morning, followed by a festive brunch and live music.

Meanwhile, residents at Coterie Cathedral Hill enjoyed a lamb carving station, the gentle ambiance of a harpist, and a special appearance from the Easter Bunny that delighted guests of all ages.

It was a wonderful way to honor and celebrate the holiday together.

“I never expected to find my calling in memory care.”

Meet Sandra, a Memory Care Resident Engagement Specialist at Coterie. With a background studying how language changed during the fall of Rome, she didn’t expect to find a calling working with older adults living with dementia. Today, she draws on that academic foundation to better understand how communication changes in memory care – and how to meet residents where they are.

Residents at Coterie Hudson Yards enjoyed a special performance by students from The Juilliard School. The talented young musicians brought an afternoon of beautiful music and impressive artistry to the community.

It was a wonderful opportunity to experience the work of students from one of the world’s most renowned performing arts schools.

A special Nowruz celebration at Coterie Cathedral Hill brought residents together to honor the Persian New Year.

Led by Resident Engagement Director Jasmin, who drew from her own Persian heritage, the program explored the traditions and meaning behind the holiday, including the symbolism of a traditional Nowruz table marking the arrival of spring.

Residents enjoyed Persian tea and sweets, followed by music and dancing that invited everyone to take part.

We brought a touch of Irish charm to communities for our St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Live music and Guinness-infused menus made it a fun and festive celebration with a nod to timeless Irish traditions.

Our Golden Oldies Social Series transported residents to a timeless era of music as the dance floor came alive with iconic sounds from the ‘60s and ‘70s.

Inspired by the era of Soul Train and classic dance shows, the afternoon featured elevated takes on retro bites like deviled eggs, pigs in a blanket and sherbet punch, bringing back the flavors and sounds of dance parties past.

“The more I shared my culture and interests, the more I felt at home too.”

Resident Engagement Specialist Axel brings not only his creativity, but also his culture to daily life at Coterie Hudson Yards. Originally from France, he hosts a popular French class where residents explore the language, literature and traditions of his home country.

Axel also helps lead resident art programs, seasonal celebrations and outings across New York City.

“We learn from one another, and we have a lot of fun as we do,” shares Axel.

Our communities welcomed the Year of the Horse with delicious food, festive performances and lots of laughter.

At Coterie Cathedral Hill, residents enjoyed Chinese dishes straight from San Francisco’s Chinatown and a visit from Miss Chinatown San Francisco and Miss Chinatown USA.

We find so much joy in celebrating and learning about different cultures.

We raised a glass to good company and the Milano Cortina Olympic Games at our Italian Aperitivo Social Series event. With pastries, spritzes and lighthearted games, the experience blended good food, friendly competition and a taste of what the Italians call “la dolce vita.”
