Fixing the Long Term Care System by putting Careworkers in the Middle.
Millions of professional and family Home care workers/ Care givers already know Caregiving is the Most Important but toughest job in the world long before the pandemic. With the added responsibilities and challenges of covid 19 many were already overwhelmed leading to significant burnout and mental health decline .Here's the question!
Who's Caring for the world's CAREGIVERS ??
Covid 19 exposed a Chronic Broken long term care system .Now we know that Caregiving is the fastest growing occupation currently as more people age or disabled but want to remain in their homes and live full,independent and dignified lives .We're depending more and more on Care workers and we're going to need them more and more.Go figure!
I propose Care agencies Policy and decision-makers place Careworkers in the MIDDLE of the Proverbial Hierarchy .We're now smack dab on the world stage after the debacle seen around the world of the frail elderly ,disabled vulnerable populations along with care workers dying at alarming rates during the pandemic.This is unacceptable and have blemished us forever. Let's work together to FIX this now.
Can we get past the Celebrity Oscar's "thingy" lol and pay attention to the individuals who've been Essential, Frontline and Significant before during and after Pandemics, Elections, Wars, or whatever the mainstream media bombard our psyche and short attention span with.
Now I'm going to continue to rant until you join this conversation.
