We are thrilled to share Aster's $2.4M pre-seed today, alongside our exclusive feature in Axios - see below!!

Our founders Fifi Kara, Lailah Kara-Newton, MD, Andrew Q. Tran founded Aster to improve maternal health outcomes. We do this by helping women’s health providers to manage, grow and scale their practices. Our solution improves clinical outcomes and enables practices to remain competitive and independent in the ever-changing landscape of healthcare. We find it important that we initially focused on maternal health providers across the U.S.

Here’s what we do and why:
• Women’s healthcare outcomes, especially during pregnancy and childbirth, are getting increasingly worse in the U.S.
• The landscape of maternal healthcare is increasingly fragmented, at the same time there has been incredible advancements in healthcare which can be capitalized on to improve this space.
• Aster unifies the tech stack, creating an end-to-end system of care for both providers and patients.
• Providers are equipped to materially change outcomes and grow their practices.

We’re already working with a number of clinics across the U.S. from our hometown California to Texas, New York, Ohio, Alabama and more and will continue to expand across the country in 2024. We’re excited to support more patients and providers through this work.

Happy New Year from team Aster 🎉

Despite being founded half way in to the year we have grown tremendously!! Our team doubled in size and we have signed up some amazing customers to use Aster in their practices!! We are so grateful to our community of providers that have contributed to our product and development, Thank YOU!

Take a look at this pilot program that provides housing for families in need in Indiana, whose infant mortality rate is up by 3%. Focusing on all aspects of the social determinants of health beyond mere access to care, provides a robust and comprehensive pregnancy experience to directly impact and improve poor outcomes. This is an example of collaborative approach serves as an exemplary model to significantly enhance both maternal and infant outcomes

Infant mortality is up 3%, the biggest increase in two decades. Indiana's infant mortality rate is the seventh-highest in the country.
