Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a therapy founded by Francine Shapiro to help those who have experienced trauma. EMDR uses back and forth movement to help your brain reprocess disturbing memories or events that are “stuck” and causing emotional and sometimes physical reactions (triggers).

What I love about EMDR is we tap into your brains natural ability to heal so you essentially are healing yourself as our bodies are intended to do!

A little reminder when the days get tough.

Reflecting on 2024 and what has resurfaced as the most important lesson: Intentionality. Being aware and genuine, especially when it comes to those I love and my own self-healing cannot be put on the back burner any longer.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, overstimulated, overworked, sad, panicked, or exhausted?

PAUSE.
Breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds.
Hold for 2 seconds.
Breathe out slowly through your mouth for 8 seconds.
Repeat 5 times.

Notice any shift in your body, mood, thoughts. Sometimes we need a pause to remember that we are ok. Deep breathing is an amazing coping skill to help calm our nervous system and make better decisions.
