The Center presents the core, true, classical teachings of the essential Yoga practices and philosophy for Self-Realization. The Yoga we teach is the classical yoga/meditation method coming from Patanjali—the eight limbs of Yoga. Vedanta philosophy comes from the Vedas, the oldest scripture known to humankind. It teaches the unity of life or oneness of consciousness, and forms the philosophical basis of the teaching of Yoga. The motto "Unity in Diversity" points out that Oneness is our essence. The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center is a non-profit, volunteer-based, spiritual organization open to all, irrespective of age, race, creed, sexual orientation or status. Our goal is to bring physical, mental, and spiritual well-being to all through the rich teaching of classical, authentic, traditional Yoga and Vedanta. Our Yoga Center offers: classical hatha yoga asana classes; small groups, individual attention; a gentle approach for beginners; school for spiritual development; teachers who have been certified in our International Sivananda Yoga Teachers Training Course.
