Tijax- the obsidian blade, the tongue
Tools that cut, that can excise for healing, or harm.
When with honesty we can open up and reflect (in anatomy, reflect means to pull back the skin or structure to expose what's below) on what our purpose is, share what our fears are, admit where we fell off the road ... perhaps we can cease building barriers. I was just thinking yesterday how the United States has continually denied or doubled down on the mistakes made, the devaluing of lifeways and peoples, disrespect for land and knowledge that wasn't obvious to headstrong settlers who only saw things to take and others as inferior, with no interest in learning how to be in right relationship. There could have been work and rest and tending land according to it's rhythms instead of just the endless drive of capitalism. Instead of shame and reparations there are prisons and profiling...these are pathologies...tumors growing from the continued denial of our history and refusal to do differently. Many are trying but at the core... The systems are breaking because they need to.... they're hollow or built over rot.

I have been privileged to be born here and have safety, an education...my grandparents and parents sacrificed for it. But it's not guaranteed to everyone. And we're loosing rights by the minute. A lack of reflection. A codifying of ignorance and erasure....it will cycle on.
Celebrating the colonial takeover of this land, the refusal to be humble and insistence on profit for a few while millions of others lose life and liberty....I don't get it. I am saddened instead of proud. I will continue to look beneath at what needs excising of my own beliefs( for the indoctrination is deep). That obsidian is also a mirror to reflect...like a scalpel to help us peel away the layers of propaganda, of separation, of better than. The powers that be could use a long look...
But we can each do our own work and support each other in theirs. Setting down our fears and being more loudly and honestly what we dream, what we are here for, what is compatible with life on this planet, what is necessary.
We can choose to use the same energy we use to avoid what scares us to heal and empower ourselves. The energy we spend to run away from what we are afraid of, from that inner part that scares us, the effort we must make to avoid expressing what we need and feel or to … Continue reading WAQIB’ TI...
