Faith, reflection, and gratitude. πŸ“–πŸ™πŸ’• Bridgehaven memory care residents gathered for a meaningful Bible study session, reflecting on the story of Eve from the Book of Genesis. Revisiting these foundational stories of the Old Testament sparked heartfelt conversation and deep reflection amongst everyone in the room.

Barbara shared that we should be content with what we have and how we look, while Sr. Janet added with confidence, "I love the way I look and what God has given to me." These moments of sharing remind us of the importance of gratitude, self-acceptance, and staying grounded in faith.

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Appreciation Van from Suncrest Hospice - Bay Area, CA to AlmaVia of San Francisco! πŸšπŸ’›

Our team absolutely loved it β€” smiles all around! Moments like this mean so much to the people who give their hearts every day to care for our residents.

The Appreciation Van has a special story. It began in 2020 during the pandemic when Suncrest wanted to personally deliver PPE and water to support their partners β€” including communities like ours β€” during such a challenging time.
What started as a thoughtful act of kindness has grown into something incredible. Fast forward to today, and they now have 4️⃣ vans still traveling and continuing their mission of appreciation and support! πŸŒ»πŸ’›πŸŒ»πŸ’›

We are deeply grateful for our partnership with Suncrest and for the consistent encouragement they show our team. Thank you for lifting spirits and reminding our staff how valued they truly are!

Crafting the "Voices Through Time" project in our Bridgehaven memory care neighborhood βœ‚οΈπŸŒ³β€οΈ Residents created something powerful with their word art project. In honor of Black History Month, each person selected a meaningful quote from influential leadersβ€”such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks, whose words continue to inspire generations.

With care and creativity, residents cut, arranged, and pasted their chosen quotations onto colorful paper, transforming their messages into bold visual statements.

Enjoying a day of being tourists in our own city! πŸšŒπŸŒ‰πŸŒŠπŸ’•

Gardens memory care neighborhood residents hopped aboard the "Tour Bus" for a day of sightseeing right in their very own beautiful city. The group cruised past a number of iconic spotsβ€”Chase Center, where the Golden State Warriors play, Oracle Park, the Embarcadero with Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, and Van Ness Avenue.

One resident pointed out the window and proudly shared, "I went to Galileo High!" as it passed by.

For older adults, outings like this provide so much more than a scenic driveβ€”they spark nostalgia, encourage storytelling, and create opportunities to share personal history with friends and staff.

We're enjoying the "Book to Brush: Storybook-Inspired Art Marking" program. πŸ“šπŸŽ¨

This week, the Bridgehaven memory care neighborhood residents explored the book "I Am Enough" by Grace Byers. Together, they read the book aloud, discussed its powerful themes of self-esteem, self-confidence, and acceptance, and then picked up their brushes to create art inspired by its message. Each resident crafted their own self-affirmations, bringing personal meaning to every stroke of color on the canvas.

Super Bowl Sunday done right at AlmaVia of San Francisco! 🏈🏈🏈

Game day was in full swing last week as residents and team members in all our neighborhoods gathered to watch Super Bowl LIX live from the South Bay. They enjoyed some nice refreshments and a lovely spread while tuning into the event.

While their home team didn't make it to the big game this year, that didn't stop everyone from enjoying every moment. As Sister Helen wisely put it: "I cheer for both teamsβ€”and the deserving team will win!"

Making memories, one page at a time in our Bridgehaven memory care neighborhood. πŸ“Έβœ‚οΈπŸ’•πŸ“–

There's a group scrapbook project underway. Sister Helen got things going by painting the cover, while the rest of the group spread out to cut, arrange, and create collages from photos they had gathered over the years. As the pictures found their places on the pages, stories began to flow. It was so nice to hear the memories being shared as they assembled their book!
