A Story of Synergy: Wellness Means Working Together.
Back in 2006, after a few years working as psychotherapist, I realized that most wellness and mental health programs (as well as many private practices) are built to fit a specific system, which uses as a main efficiency metric the number of clients currently using their services. That automatically means that there is an inherent conflict between improving the clients’ condition and retaining them as paying clients. This is by definition an individualistic (even selfish) model, I thought.
It was in that moment that me and my partner, Patricia Rojas-Zambrano, had the idea to create a counseling practice that focuses on Togetherness as a healing model, as well as on unknown, unexplored and untapped wellness resources that each human being possesses. These resources have emergent proprieties: they are not detectable simply because they resurface only when we establish meaningful relationships. Until those types of relationships are established, we are all vulnerable to become stuck in any of the life’s vicious circles.
And thus SYNERGIS COUNSELING was born, borrowing the name from the Greek word SYNERGY, which in essence means Working Together. Over the past decade we have developed several original ways of working. Our clients are professionals from all over San Francisco Bay Area: Tech, Finance, Law Offices, Academia, Entertainment & TV.
