Hi everyone! My name is Cassie and I am so very excited to be able to support the q***r and trans community in SF and the Bay area through SF Therapy Collective.

I received my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an LGBT Specialization from Antioch University Los Angeles and have been practicing as a therapist since 2010. I have worked specifically with LGBTQ youth and adults in various diverse settings including the Los Angeles LGBT Center and Colors LGBTQ Youth Counseling Center. In addition to my work with clients at SF Therapy Collective and in my private practice, I am a clinical supervisor for a new q***r mental health program at Brave Trails, a California-based LGBTQ youth leadership camp. It is such an honor to work with youth there as a volunteer each summer and even greater to now be able to support pre-licensed therapists in providing much-needed services for our q***r youth.

I come from a client-centered and collaborative approach to therapy. I believe that you are the expert on you and I am here to support you in knowing yourself better and reaching your goals. I also see therapy as a form of activism - the more we can realize our authentic selves, the more we can become empowered and make a difference to ourselves, our loved ones, and our community. I also tend to bring humor and playfulness into the therapy space - life is about many moods and expressions. I specialize in working with sexual and gender diversity, multiculturalism, anxiety, depression, improving communication and relationships, life transitions, and personal and career growth/identity.

Hello there! My name is Marisa. I am energized and honored to join the lovely and dedicated SFTC team and to support the wellbeing of the beloved q***r and trans community here in SF. It is truly a gift!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have worked in the mental health field since 2012. I received a master’s degree in social work from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2015, with a focus in Community Mental Health. After graduation, I spent over six years working at a wide range of school-based community mental health programs and hospital settings, where I provided trauma-informed therapy to youth and their families and received clinical training towards my license. Most recently, I worked as the Clinical Coordinator at an organization in Concord facilitating trainings and running psycho-educational groups for disabled adults and have begun to build my own private practice focused on serving fellow members of the LGBTQQ, neurodivergent and disabled community!

I believe that all therapy is political, and that oppression is a form of trauma. As q***r clinician myself, I understand the unique struggles our community faces and the tole this too often takes on our mental health and spirits. I specialize in working with q***r folks on issues related to gender identity, sexual identity development and self-worth as well as neurodivergent folks around unmasking, navigating the sensory world and re-claiming their authentic selves. I also enjoy working with folks who identify as kinky or non-monogamous or who are curious about exploring these identities. Additionally, I welcome white folks who are looking to explore how white supremacy has shaped them and are interested in getting support in their journey towards anti-racism. My style is warm, collaborative, person-centered, curious, and playful. I take a holistic mind-body-spirit approach to therapy and bring tools from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), somatic techniques, and an attachment focused approach to accompany folks on their healing journey. I honor the bravery and vulnerability it takes to reach out for support and I have deep respect for folks’ strengths, resilience and even your defenses. I support my clients to come home to a more embodied, empowered version of themselves and to access their inner wisdom.

Hello!

I am very proud to be joining the SFTC team and always honored to continue working with my own beautiful LGBTQ+ community!

My own therapy transformed my life and helped me become a happier person and live my life more deliberately. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Antioch University, Los Angeles because I want to help others do the same.

Primarily, my role is to help my clients understand the meaning and the impact of their experiences and recognize patterns--even when they may not want to see them. Understanding our past experiences, along with identifying our core beliefs and values, lead to clarity and contentment...I help my clients explore all of this.

I practice individual, couples, family, DBT therapy, as well as EMDR trauma-based therapy. My approach is LGBTQ affirmative, informed, supportive, and my style is empathic, candid, and direct. I listen intently, but I also ask questions, I explore, I provide real, authentic feedback, and I use humor…I love to laugh!

My name is Estella and I'm am excited to be joining SFTC as an Associate after working at its partner organization, Q***r Lifespace, for the past year and a half.

My aim is to support clients in the work of integration and authentic connection with themselves and their world. I use a variety of approaches that include Gestalt, existential, and narrative psychotherapies to foster greater awareness and encourage holistic growth. I seek to help the people I work with express their authentic selves and support clients around many different challenges including anxiety, depression, shame, gender dysphoria, trauma, and issues with self-esteem.

While I work with clients who hold a wide variety of identities, I am particularly interested in working with transgender and gender non-conforming adults and adolescents and their families as well as individuals and partners involved in polyamorous and non-monogamous relationships.

My name is Henry, and I am humbled and honored to be part of the wonderful team at SFTC.

I received my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Golden Gate University. I had the privilege of working with couples, children, and family therapy at Compass Family Services in
San Francisco.

I am excited to be working within the LGBTQ+community where I feel most at home. I look forward to working with clients on the various psychological and emotional issues our community faces each day.

My goal in therapy is to let my clients know that “I am listening, I hear them, and I want them to know that they don’t have to be alone.”
