October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
十月是全國乳癌宣傳月

Did you know? Breast cancer is a very common disease in women. Having an annual mammography checkup can help detect risk factors for developing breast cancer. There are different types of screening and treatment options depending one’s need. If you want to learn more about mammography screening, please attend NEMS Health Education Workshop.

Topics include:
• What is breast cancer?
• What is a mammogram?
• Why is a mammogram important?
• When should I start getting a mammogram?
• What can I do to reduce my risk?

2025 SF Sunset District Autumn Moon Festival & Health Fair
2025年日落區中秋節街會和健康展覽會

Come celebrate the 2025 SF Sunset District Autumn Moon Festival & Health Fair this Saturday, October 4, from 12 PM to 4 PM! Irving Street will be closed between 20th and 22nd Avenue for two blocks of performances, activities, and resources! The fun continues in the evening from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM with a lantern event on the Great Highway at Irving Street. NEMS is a proud to be the Lantern Sponsor🏮of this event.

歡迎大家前來參加將於本週六 (10/4) 舉辦的 2025 年日落區中秋節街會和健康展覽會！日間街會將於中午 12 點至下午 4 點在 Irving 街夾 20 及 22 大道之間進行，屆時將有音樂，表演，醫生問答環節，舞獅和兒童活動！

2025 SF Chinatown Autumn Moon Festival
2025年三藩市華埠中秋節街會

Happening this weekend! NEMS will be participating in the 2025 San Francisco Chinatown Autumn Moon Festival on Saturday, September 27, and Sunday, September 28! We will have 2 booths on Grant Avenue (close to Pacific) providing:

• FREE glucose screenings - complete a glucose test to receive a special gift!
• FREE games and prizes
• Information about NEMS Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE)
• Information about our clinics and services including hepatitis B, C, and tuberculosis testing

Make sure to stop by our booths and check out all the activities we prepared for all attendees! We hope to see you this Saturday or Sunday!

The VIP Lounge Show will feature NEMS MSO Associate Director – VBC Operations Annie Chen, Nurse Case Manager Silvia Luo, and Health Services and Care Coordinator Helen Tam, on KTSF, airing TONIGHT, 9/18, at 8:30 PM and again on Sunday, 9/21, at 9:30 PM! 🎥✨ (The show will be presented in Cantonese.)

During the segment, Annie, Silvia, and Helen will discuss what the Case Management Team does, share their individual roles and responsibilities, and explain how they collaborate to develop care plans for patients in need. This includes scheduling follow-up appointments, arranging transportation, requesting medical equipment, coordinating referrals, and organizing home care. 🤝💖
