om her own share of bothersome health complaints, including allergies, frequent headaches, and eczema, Dr. Yoon is familiar with the ineffectiveness and limitations of modern pharmaceuticals. She realized that, while medications were able to provide temporary relief from an ailment, they were severely lacking in their ability to offer a long-term solution that not only alleviated symptoms, but also reversed them. Through her own journey to health, she has come to understand how natural medicine— working alone or when combined with pharmaceuticals — can accomplish just that. Dr. Yoon’s interest in natural medicine was born during her premed studies at Washington University in St. From there, she earned a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University, and also earned a Master of Science of Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. In addition to her foundational education in natural medicine, Dr. Yoon continues to expand her knowledge and application in the field by obtaining certifications for Traditional Chinese Medicine in Dermatology and Restorative Medicine. In addition to her extensive educational background, Dr. Yoon serves as a proud member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP). Yoon also serves as a member and former legislative chair of the California Naturopathic Doctors Association (CNDA). She was awarded the distinction of Doctor of the Year by the CNDA in 2013. Dr. Minna Yoon, Naturopathic Doctor at Bay Natural Medicine of San Francisco, CA, uses her knowledge of both traditional and state-of-the-art therapeutic methods to help her clients reach their ultimate wellness potential.

An alarming new national study out today finds to***co retailers are literally everywhere in major California cities – especially near schools and in low-income neighborhoods.

This easy access, coupled with kid-friendly flavors, leaves youth vulnerable to ni****ne addiction, and shows yet again why California must pass SB 793 and eliminate flavored to***co products.

There are two things everyone needs to do today:
1) Tell your Assembly member to keep pushing to pass SB 793.
2) Spread the word by sharing this study on social media.

The study exposes many other shocking facts. For example: In the California cities examined, there are an average of 35x more to***co retailers than McDonald's, and 12x as many as Starbucks! And there are far more to***co retailers in low-income neighborhoods.

These retailers are peddling candy-flavored to***co products designed to appeal to youth: e-ci******es in over 15,000 flavors, grape ci**rs, minty menthol ci******es, and more. These flavored products are driving the current youth ni****ne addiction crisis. They shouldn't be for sale anywhere, let alone in the shadow of our children's schools.

It's July, which means blueberries are here! These plump little berries are packed full of antioxidants. As with all berries, buy organic if possible to avoid pesticide exposure. Blueberries pair wonderfully with lemon flavor (juice and zest). I love them in smoothies, salads, and healthy baked goods!

Getting your daily intake of fruits and vegetables is important - whether that's fresh, frozen, or canned!

Tinned and frozen fruits and vegetables tend to be seen as less nutritious than fresh versions. But that's not always the case.

When buying produce items, it's important to utilize the "Dirty Dozen" (Environmental Working Group's list of twelve produce items that have tested positive for most pesticide residues) in order to reduce your exposure to pesticides. These pesticides contaminate our food and deplete its nutritional value.

This list allows you to be knowledgeable on what items you should purchase organic vs what items you can purchase conventional to save some money.

There is an increasing number of accidental poisoning from the misuse of household cleaners and disinfectants. Please use caution and read the labels.

For a safe DIY disinfectant wipe, all you need is 3% hydrogen peroxide, Ziploc plastic bags, and paper towels!

Take a Ziploc plastic bag and place durable paper towels into the bag. In a 1:1 ratio, dilute the hydrogen peroxide with water, mix and pour the necessary amount in the bag to saturate the paper towels. Roughly 2 TBS each of hydrogen peroxide and water should make a dozen disinfectant wipes!

The prevention causes its own ills
