The event will feature exclusive in-store retail discounts, meet-and-greets with talented local artists, a live drawing session, ethereal bubble machines, a special prize raffle for a flower subscription (all attendees automatically entered), AND a 1-hour flower arrangement workshop with your choice of flowers from a beautiful array of options, including shrubbery. Gloves and shears will be provided, and you'll be able to take home your arrangementโ€™s glass vessel.

This will be a beautiful, unique, and memorable event that you don't want to miss! Proceeds from the event will benefit nonprofit counseling agency Q***r LifeSpace, a frontline provider of mental health services to economically vulnerable LGBTQIA+ people in the Bay Area.

Join Q***r LifeSpace and Mission: Comics & Art, highlighting q***r voices in comics and the role graphic novels play in sharing q***r stories about mental health. The event will kick off with presentations by two q***r Bay Area local artists, Simon Jane and Sarah Maloney, where they will share their work, their creative process, and their experiences with the intersection between comics, mental health, and q***r identity.

Following the presentations, attendees will have a chance to connect with one another through a collaborative comic-making session. No experience necessary! Whether youโ€™re a seasoned storyteller and artist or just curious, come connect with other q***r comic and zine fans and express yourself through the power of storytelling and art.h

Our Story

We are an organization made up of q***r people just like you, with services designed especially for you.

Q***r LifeSpace is a nonprofit counseling agency that provides sustainable mental health and substance abuse services to the LGBTQ+ community.

Q***r people often struggle with increased rates of suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, and loss of family. Government funding for nonprofits has dramatically decreased, making it difficult for existing local agencies to meet all the essential mental health and substance abuse needs our community requires. We are here to be a solution to these problems.

The mission and formation of Q***r LifeSpace began with the shared vision of its four founding directors to bring quality, long-term, and affordable mental health and substance abuse care to the Bay Area q***r community. The founders became friends and colleagues while working together at New Leaf Services, which had to close its doors in October 2010, after 35 years of serving the LGBTQ+ community.
