October 10th marks World Mental Health Day, a global reminder that mental well-being is just as vital as physical health—especially for children and teens. As we face a growing youth mental health crisis, it’s more important than ever to equip kids with tools that help them thrive emotionally, physically, and socially.

📊 The Mental Health Crisis in Numbers

Recent studies reveal alarming trends:

* Anxiety and depression rates among children have surged. In the U.S., feelings of persistent sadness and hopelessness increased by 40% over the past decade.
* Su***de is now the second leading cause of death for youth ages 12–24.
* During the pandemic, moderate-to-severe depression rose from 10.5% to 15.1% among 11–13-year-olds, with girls and Hispanic/Latinx youth most affected.

These numbers reflect more than statistics—they represent real children struggling to cope with stress, isolation, and uncertainty.

When kids learn to pause, breathe, and redirect their attention, they strengthen the very muscles of willpower. Yoga is one of the simplest, most effective ways to help kids practice this skill daily.

Seriously?! 🌟 The CUTENESS that happens in kids and family yoga is off the charts (every time)!

We’ve been teaching the IYK® Signature system for 20 years since 2005. Our studio was a NO PHONE ZONE. 🚫 That means the cuteness was only captured in our bodies, minds and hearts.

Access matters! Yoga at the local public library is FUN! 🤸🏿‍♀️🧘

📚 We work with San Francisco Public Library, Berkeley Public Library, Contra Costa Public Library and many others!

We often plan months in advance for programming. Join us on October 7 at 6p at Pleasant Hill Library. All ages welcome!

Ask your children’s librarian for yoga at your library. Our classes help connect body and mind for better reading skills at every age:

Our Story

Be YOUR Best! In the last decade Kids Yoga has evolved from a healthy fun activity to an educational necessity for wellness and success.

It’s Yoga Kids® builds healthy habits for happy successful kids with essential movement and mindset practices at every age from babies to teenagers. We teach training for parents, educators and coaches. We host parties, camp and classes at school, at home, in sports and performing arts, and at our studios. Touching toes is not required. ;)

After over a decade of validating our IYK® Signature System in studios and schools, our goal is to integrate our proven and practical program into everyday life at home, in classrooms, in sports and performing arts in 2 to 20 minutes daily.
