Happy holidays!

A book I (Autumn) read recently that dives into the roots of many traditions we partake in at this time of year is The Old Magic of Christmas: Yuletide Traditions for the Darkest Days of the Year by Linda Raedisch. In addition to discussing different winter goddesses and brief details of their lore, the book also offers recipes and crafts that we might enjoy incorporating into our holiday practices and traditions.

We’ve been working on a lot and working HARD. Every barrier we’ve run into may have halted us for a time but we are holding firmly to our goal.

As we keep pressing forward, we may be met with competition pushing against our progress. Or it could be different opinions that at one time would have slowed us down.

We have a better understanding of ourselves though and have learned to treat ourselves with a bit more compassion in our journey. This week may ask us to continue showing ourselves kindness.

One may find themselves overcoming past fears this week. The mountainous obstacle will be behind us as we no longer let it monopolize our attention.

Moving on will allow us to start a new opportunity that will excite our senses. Whether we see the door open or not, it is ready to take us to brighter days.

Starting a new chapter or new page with lingering doubt can have us feeling off balance, but Justice is ready to act if we don’t continue moving forward with clarity about our decisions and how they affect us.

Our choices this week are important for our personal growth. Do we have the strength to release our past while retaining the lessons learned? Or are we still lost in our mistakes?

Our Queen of Cups is mindful in how she pours into her own cup with care while holding space for the ones she cherishes. We must nurture ourselves or risk burnout.

Some of us choose to isolate ourselves rather than risk rejection or burnout. But it is a lonely existence. Devoid of the warmth of connection.

We must make a choice that lies ahead, trusting in our intuition to guide us. If necessary, we must remove the blindfold from what we are in denial about that prevents us from seeing the path clearly.

We may have recently experienced a difficult event that has made us feel hopeless, stuck, and at a loss on how to proceed. We may like to hold up in bed for the foreseeable future despite the bars blocking our view of said future.

If we peek through those bars though, we’ll see we have options should we take a stand. Behind us, the past is fixed and unchangeable. What lies ahead is something we can fill and shape with the guide of our desire.

But we must choose to let go of what we are familiar with and venture forth. Whatever we may be losing at this junction in time is freeing us to refill our cups with joy of another nature.

Every day we face challenges of varying degrees and yet we should be prepared for larger challenges to emerge this week. What lies beneath our current obstacles may be the source of our current entanglement.

We may need to make some sacrifices to overcome the hurdles that this week brings. Feelings of loss are not unexpected but we mustn’t let ourselves dwell on what has spilled.

We’ve overcome a lot. As we enjoy rewards of our hard work, we mustn’t let ourselves get swept away by deceptive displays around us.

We must look deeper this week beyond the surface level of our motives and emotions. Or those of others. What is driving our choices subconsciously and is it in our best interest or deceptively steering us elsewhere?

Part of that deception may be looking at a certain situation or relationship with rose colored glasses. Looking for the positive in life is not a bad thing but being blind to reality is not healthy either.

If we aren’t looking at life clearly, our momentum is halted. We’ll be stuck where we are and unable to move ahead due to our own stubbornness.
