Our wise and talented friend, Andre, led our staff, teachers and volunteers in a trauma-informed training around de-escalating conflict. His session opened up rich conversations that helped inform what safety practices best align with our vision for a safe and compassionate environment. Thank you to all who participated and offered valuable insights and experiences❤️‍🔥

We had a blast on last month’s field trip to Ghirardelli Square ✨ We were taken on a beautiful walking tour of the area, learned about the history of aquatic park and the pier, then wrapped it all up with some delicious pizza. Good food, good views, and good company ✅ what more does one need? 🤩

Once a month, we gather with our Spanish speaking neighbors for a game of lotería and some delicious Salvadorean food🔥 Join us this upcoming Friday to continue building community together, one game, and one laugh at a time! 🤗

At the Cadillac Hotel, residents serve one another and we are so fortunate we can lend our kitchen once a month to expand their service. Ruben always cooks up a delicious meal for about 30 of his neighbors and does it with so much ease and humility. And last time, some high schoolers from Sacred Heart Cathedral HS stopped by to hangout with us! Cheers to quality food & time🎈✨

Here’s an inside look at all the fun our Arabic speaking sisters have been having at their weekly gatherings. Last month they practiced weaving in a therapeutic and explorative art class with Toby 😋🧶 With the help of their amazing teacher, Leah, have also been diving into the art of Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial arts form that weaves in dance, music and culture. It was created by enslaved people and used as a form of resistance and can help to heal communities, today 💙 Our staff, Howaida, also managed to bring about playful laughter and energy with the tabletop game competitions she has organized for them ✨

He has been a beloved mentor and colleague to many in the Tenderloin, and has just recently departed from his role as Clubhouse Director. Words can hardly sum up how significant he is to us, but this article celebrates his work and discusses his transition 💙

Last month we were paid a very sincere visit by students from Saint Mary’s College High School in Berkeley 💙 They arrived early to help us serve breakfast to our neighbors, and joined our community in our weekly yoga session. What a gift it is to serve alongside such young and generous spirits, thanks for visiting! ✨

A huge shout out goes to the ELKS Club who have been volunteering to grill hotdogs every month for the past few years🫶 They always distribute over 200 hotdogs and now are generously upping their supply to continue feeding more!
