Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center It was founded in 1866 to care for one of the first generations of San Franciscans, the Gold Rush pioneers.

Laguna Honda is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center owned and operated by the San Francisco Department of Public Health. The federal government notified us that involuntary transfers of Laguna Honda residents remain paused until September 19th. This extension brings great relief to our residents. Celebrating Laguna Honda Hospital Nurses - Happy Nurses Week 2023!

As we come to the end of another Nurses Week, we show our gratitude for the incredible nursing staff here at Laguna Honda.

The community that Laguna Honda nurses have helped build is something special. Not only do they deliver compassionate, excellent care day in and day out, but they also create a welcoming home for our residents. Our nurses really do make a difference, and their impact is felt not only at Laguna Honda, but throughout San Francisco and beyond.

The federal government notified us yesterday that involuntary transfers of Laguna Honda residents will not resume until at least May 19.

We are relieved for our residents and their families. And we thank our dedicated and hard working staff for the care they provide every day. The additional time allows Laguna Honda to continue to accomplish the steps needed for successful Medicare and Medicaid recertification.

We know Laguna Honda is the best place for our residents to receive care.
