A spark of an idea from Dr. Yasi Vafai and our pediatric team at ZSFG has now become a reality in partnership with San Francisco Public Library.

Last week, the Bookmobile rolled onto campus – and it was an instant hit. Nearly 50 patients, families, staff, and neighbors stopped by to explore books, access resources, and sign up for library cards right inside the .

“Every child deserves access to the stories and resources that help them grow,” shares Dr. Vafai.

Dr. Neeti Doshi, fellow pediatrician, adds, “Every family deserves access to the rich community resources that help children and communities thrive. By strengthening the connection between healthcare and the public library, we hope to make these resources more accessible to patients, families, and staff – and help foster a culture where reading is joyful, valued, and available to everyone.”

The Bookmobile will be on campus tomorrow - and every Friday through July – from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. and is open to all.
