San Francisco Eye Institute

Established in 2007. Born in Taiwan and fluent in Mandarin, Dr. Liu grew up on the East Coast. After graduating magna cm laude from the University of Pennsylvania, she pursued a medical degree at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, NY where she stayed to complete an Ophthalmology Residency.

She continued studying the eye in a Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery fellowship at the prestigious Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins and was honored with the Aliki Perroti Scholarship and Walter J. Stark Research Award. Since 2013, Dr. Liu has also served as the Chief of the Cornea Service at California Pacific Medical Center where I teach residents complex cataract and corneal surgery. Her training, research, and dedication has led to national lecture invitations or paper presentations at conferences held by The Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins, Stanford University, The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Liu and Dr. Cheng are grateful to the Pacific Vision Foundation which is serving as the catalyst to establish the Eye Institute and they are honored to join their distinguished vision care colleagues at this important new medical institution which is also home to:

• Ophthalmology Residency Program accredited to the California Pacific Medical Center
• Lions Eye Foundation Eye Clinic
• Ophthalmic Diagnostic Center
• Frank Stein and Paul S. May Center for Low Vision Rehabilitation

The Eye Institute aims to provide access to high quality eye care for all. Philanthropic support is needed to support an increase in clinical vision research and the establishment of a state of the art Surgery Center
