We are so excited to welcome Roxana to the Clinic by the Bay team. She’s an amazing dental assistant, a proud member of the neighborhood, and Spanish-speaking, making it even easier for us to connect with and serve our patients.

De niño, ayudaba a su abuela a recoger latas para vender y así pagar su insulina. Años después, tuvo que traducirle a su papá un diagnóstico de cáncer en etapa 4. Nunca había visto a un doctor por miedo al costo.

Ahora, Hollis es voluntario en Clinic by the Bay, ayudando a personas trabajadoras y sin seguro médico a recibir atención gratuita y con respeto.

Hollis knows what it’s like to be afraid to see a doctor.
As a child, he helped his grandmother collect cans to sell so she could buy her insulin. Years later, he had to translate a stage 4 cancer diagnosis for his father, who had never seen a doctor because of the cost.

Now, Hollis volunteers at Clinic by the Bay, helping hardworking, uninsured people get free, respectful care.

Last night, our Executive Director, Katelyn McMeekin-Jackson, joined an inspiring panel at The Commonwealth Club for a powerful conversation on “Strengthening Local Health Ecosystems in California.”

Together with leaders Isabel Navarrete from UCSF Sustainability, Eric Talbert from MedCycle Network, Jiwon Min from Every.org, and moderator Lila LaHood of San Francisco Public Press, the discussion centered on collaborative, community-powered approaches to healthcare access, equity, and sustainability.

Thank you to Eric Talbert and the MedCycle team for bringing us together to amplify solutions that are working and to highlight how volunteer-powered clinics like Clinic by the Bay are bridging critical gaps for our uninsured neighbors.

Clinic by the Bay will be attending this Thursday’s celebration of National Health Center Week at San Francisco City Hall!

This week, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed a resolution honoring the amazing work of the San Francisco Community Clinic Consortium (SFCCC) and its 12 members. We're happy to cheer on these dedicated providers who are making a difference across the city.

The event will feature speakers including Mayor Daniel Lurie, Board of Supervisors President Rafael Mandelman, and others committed to advancing community health. We’re especially excited to see SFCCC's Street Outreach Services mobile van in action starting at 10:45 AM.
