The Celli Brothers LLC once again brightened a gray San Francisco day at Epiphany Center with their generous donation of fresh farm produce—including watermelon, honeydew, and festive pumpkins.
We’re especially grateful to Lupe and her daughter Trynity for personally delivering this beautiful bounty. Chef Crystal and our clients are excited to incorporate the fresh melons into their meals, and our staff is delighted to take home these seasonal treats.
Thank you, Celli Brothers, for your continued support and generosity!

September marks National Recovery Month.
This month reminds us that recovery is not only possible—it’s a reality for millions of Americans living with substance use and mental health challenges. By raising awareness, sharing stories of hope, and standing against stigma, we can strengthen pathways to healing and inspire lasting change.
We honor the courage of our women on their recovery journey, celebrate the resilience of families and communities, and thank the providers who make recovery possible. Together, we can build a community where every person feels supported, valued, and empowered on their path to healing.

Happy International Literacy Day!

At Epiphany Center, even our tiniest readers remind us that the love of books begins early.
Every giggle, every page turned, is a step toward curiosity and confidence.
Together, we turn every page into a step toward hope.

Welcome to the Summer Edition of our Focus Newsletter!
As always, we begin with heartfelt reflections from Executive Director Sister Betty Marie, whose words continue to uplift and guide us through each season.
We are thrilled to share that our childcare expansion project is nearly complete!
Happy 100th Birthday to Zvi Danenberg! We’re honored to celebrate a century of life and legacy with such a cherished member of our community.
Congratulations to Dr. Linda Perez for 35 incredible years of service! Dr. Perez recently led an insightful staff in-service, “The Anxious Generation,” exploring how digital dependency is impacting child development.
We thank and congratulate the Epiphany League for orchestrating two successful annual events: Benefit Party & Show and the Celebrating Mothers Luncheon
We were also honored to welcome District 2 Supervisor Stephen Sherrill to the Epiphany Center, where he witnessed firsthand the impact of your generous support.

We received word yesterday that Sister Fran Kearney died yesterday after a struggle with stage 4 cancer. Sister worked at Epiphany Center Children’s Services for 23 years which she founded and developed, along with Sister Estela Morales, Dr. Linda Perez and Nurse Practitioner Melissa Belbahri. Even after retiring, Sister returned for a few years to teach Infant First Aid and CPR to our staff and our mothers as well as to celebrate with us on many occasions. We celebrated with Sister Fran last May at our Mother’s Day luncheon when she seemed as full of health and joy as ever. Her positive, cheerful spirit brought peace and serenity wherever she went.

Dear Sister Fran may she rest in Peace. Though we are much saddened by Sister Fran’s death, we rejoice that she is now with the God she served so well.
Sister Fran brought joy and a sense of her love by just being who she was.
Blessings to each of you.

CELEBRATING 174 Years of Service!
Today, August 18th, Epiphany Center (Mount St. Joseph-St. Elizabeth) and the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul honor nearly two centuries of unwavering compassion, resilience, and dedication to San Francisco’s most vulnerable women and children.
From the seven courageous Sisters who journeyed around the globe in 1852 to today’s dedicated team at Epiphany Center — the mission remains the same: offering hope, healing, and brighter futures.
We are ever grateful to YOU — our incredible community — supporting our mission throughout the years. Your generosity has empowered women in recovery, supported mothers and their young children, and has transformed the lives of entire families. It is because of your generosity that we are able to provide the highest quality of service and compassion to families in need in our community.

How blessed we are to share this important day in our history with all of you!
