We look forward to seeing many of you at Epiphany Center / Mount St. Joseph - St. Elizabeth's Benefit Party & Show 2025 this Thursday! Each year, we ask guests and our entire Epiphany Community - even those unable to attend - to help us raise funds for our annual Fund-A-Need. This year, we need YOUR help to support the completion of our new Epiphany Infant Toddler Center which is currently under construction.

Epiphany has long been a place where women can participate in residential recovery while keeping their young children by their sides. Keeping families together not only increases the likelihood that mothers will complete recovery but also ensures their children receive essential developmental care during this critical time.

You'll see in the photo gallery that we have already completed the renovation of our existing toddler classroom to house our inaugural Pre-K program which will accommodate 16 children. However, we need your help to finish the renovation of our existing modular building and its conversion into the new infant/toddler center with a new green schoolyard.

Can we count on you for a gift of support? Donate Here: http://e.givesmart.com/events/GLm/page/donate/

All Aboard! Save the Date! Thursday, March 27th
28th Annual BENEFIT PARTY & SHOW!
The Epiphany League is excited to announce this year's theme: "The (Orient) Epiphany Express!" The event promises an evening filled with music, dining, and unforgettable performances by our all-star cast of volunteers. The Epiphany Express will be leaving the station on March 27, 2025, from The Family Club in San Francisco.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS for yet another spectacular musical r***e in support of our families.... giving hope and brighter futures to so many women and infants. Epiphany is able to continue to advance its impact with your partnership and shared values. We cannot do what we do with YOU!
Note: The "Orient Express was one of the first long-distance passenger trains, the legendary train linked Paris with Istanbul, the gateway to Asia, the mysterious Orient (thus the name). After its launch in the Belle Epoque, the iconic train route changed over the following years, but it typically passed through major European cities, including Vienna, Budapest, Bucharest, and Belgrade. The train was known for its luxurious amenities and was one of the most popular means of travel for wealthy tourists, royals, diplomats, and spies. But the Orient Express was more than a simple train. It was also an idea, the legendary train linking Europe and Asia, and as such was immortalized in fiction and cinema.

Today, we celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany to mark the day when the three wise men arrived from great distances to present gifts to the newborn, Jesus.
In 2008, Sister Estela, the agency’s former Executive Director, and her team chose “Epiphany Center” as the new “doing business as” name for Mount St. Joseph-St. Elizabeth because “epiphany” means “flash, insight, inspiration, realization, vision.” Epiphany is an apt name that reflects our recovery programs that make “aha moments” possible for women who have experienced trauma and come to us for healing and direction in their lives. We are blessed to serve as “stars” for our women and children as they move forward on their road to recovery.

Construction Update! Expansion of our Early Childhood Education Center......
Big things are happening at the Epiphany Center! Despite the challenging weather conditions for construction, our expansion project for the childcare facilities and playground is coming to life.
New pathways are being created for ease of access to all areas inside and out.
It’s incredible to see these changes take shape, and we can't wait to share this transformed space with our community later this spring. Thank you for your continued support in helping us build a brighter future for our families!

Over the next three days, we honor and celebrate the legacy of St. Vincent de Paul and the Daughters of Charity.

November 27: The Feast of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. On this day, the apparition of Our Blessed Mother to Saint Catherine Labouré is commemorated. Miraculous Medals, one the most revered sacramentals of the Catholic Church, and very special to the Daughters of Charity as it was in the Sisters’ Motherhouse that the Blessed Mother appeared to St. Catherine Labouré, a Daughter of Charity. Mary asked Sister Catherine to go to her Confessor, who was the Vincentian Priest who was a Superior of the Daughters of Charity, and tell him that the Blessed Mother said to have medals made. The Blessed Mother modeled for Sister Catherine what she wanted the medal to look like, and promised blessings for those who wore it in faith and prayed the words that are on it: "O Mary Conceived Without Sin, Pray for us who have recourse to You".

November 28: Celebrates the life of the person graced with the apparitions of the Miraculous Virgin in 1830, in the chapel of the Motherhouse of the Daughters of Charity, on the Rue du Bac in Paris: Saint Catherine Labouré. A humble, generous and self-sacrificing Daughter of Charity who dedicated herself to serving the poorest. A Daughter of Charity who, for forty-five years, performed the quietest services in the hospice of Enghien, in the Rue de Reuilly in Paris.

November 29: St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac founded the Company of Daughters of Charity in France on November 29, 1633. (387 years ago!) They went on to organize community hospitals, establish schools and homes for orphaned children, offer job training, teach the young to read and write, and improve prison conditions. Vincent de Paul, speaking of the founding of the Company, exclaimed:
“Who would have thought that there would be Daughters of Charity?… I did not think about it… God thought it for you.”

On this day in 1921, Sister Fidelis Ryan and two Sister-Companions established St. Elizabeth Infant Hospital at 2350 Van Ness Street (at Filbert) in San Francisco. This residence for u***d mothers was given by Archbishop Hanna, and the physicians and staff at Mary’s Help Hospital provided medical care for them. The program received women there until 1928 when the new building at 100 Masonic was completed through the generosity of B.P. Oliver.
