I wish I could say today gets easier every year, but it doesn’t. We went in no questions asked, as it’s our duty to respond on the clock or off, as it is innate in every 1st responder to act selfless in the face of danger. Please don’t forget our fallen brothers’ and sisters and everyone who passed on that day. Since many of us who were there that day working didn’t have respiratory protection and have since fallen from what we inhaled that day and weeks, months after. Only certain groups had respirators. There just wasn’t enough, and all the volunteers were not protected either. All the brave souls I encountered that day deserve the government to compensate them for the 9/11 related illnesses that have risen since being there that day and to no longer be ignored by the very powers that you’d expect to have your back in the ultimate sacrifice for your country. Call on Congress to support the permanent authorization of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund.
Remember and for those of us that were there, some still suffering and dying from 9/11-related illnesses. Honor and remember the 1st responders that gave the ultimate sacrifice. Bless all the angels putting up the good fight &
