We warmly invite you to join our Medicine Master Buddha Repentance this Sunday 🌿

A day to pause, reflect, and gently realign the mind and heart. From 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, at Dharma Treasury Temple in San Francisco—and simultaneously at our branch temples in San Jose and Rosemead—we come together in a spirit of sincerity and renewal.

This ceremony is a traditional practice focused on purification and healing. Through chanting, bowing, and quiet reflection, many find a sense of lightness, clarity, and inner steadiness.

The day also includes a Dharma talk by Master Zhi and a shared vegetarian meal, offering both guidance and community.

You are welcome to join at any location. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to pause and be present.

Sometimes, healing begins not by doing more… but by letting go.

May this day support clarity, compassion, and peace in your life.

Will you give yourself the time to reset and begin again?

Can’t stop overthinking a problem?
Most people try to think harder… push more… and end up stuck.
That’s why we say: “sleep on it.”
But Chan Buddhism points to something deeper:
clarity comes when you stop thinking.
In this Dharma Glimpse, we explore how to break mental blocks and find solutions with a clearer mind.
We recommend watching the full video here: https://youtu.be/pLPaluDv748?si=DXgUTwoppeE8DDSc

What is your favorite version of “sleep on it”? Feel free to reflect and share in the comments.

Sometimes what we need is a quiet space to sit and look within.

Master XianXin guides Chan meditation in a warm and practical way. Through meditation sessions, tea gatherings, and ceremonies, she helps people recognize their patterns, let go of what doesn’t help, and develop more calm and clarity.
It’s a simple practice, supported by a community, where you can take it step by step.

“As you sit there and recite the Buddha’s name, it is not long before a thought arises: ‘It hurts.’ That is two-mindedness. Then you react to the last thought: ‘Go away pain, you are not welcome here.’ That is three-mindedness. Do you get it? Each time you react, you get further away from single-mindedness.”—Master YongHua

Something unusual happened in the Buddha Hall this week.

The same space where we usually meditate and chant slowly filled with cameras, lights, and microphones. As a community, we turned it into a recording studio—one small step at a time. Moving chairs, adjusting lights, taking care of details.

We didn’t do it just to create content. We did it because we believe in Master YongHua’s teachings, and we want them to reach more people.

In these interviews, Master speaks about spirituality, about looking within… and the benefits of Chan practice (some say it might even help with baldness—but you can judge that for yourself).

You’ll be able to watch them soon here:

Sometimes, practice also looks like this: coming together to share the Dharma.

San Jose moves fast—start your Saturday by slowing it down.

Tomorrow, Saturday April 4th at 9:00 am, you are invited to pause at Gold Forest Chan Meditation Center. A quiet space in the middle of a busy city, where you can set aside emails, deadlines, and notifications… and return to yourself.

Guided by Venerable XianWen, each session blends tea ceremony and Chan meditation—simple practices that help you calm the mind and regain clarity for daily life.

People often come feeling overwhelmed, and leave with something different: a steadier mind, a bit more space, a quieter way of facing the day.
