🌟 Self-care isn't selfish, it's essential! 🌟

In our fast-paced lives, it's easy to forget to prioritize ourselves. Remember, self-care isn't just a luxury—it's a vital part of maintaining our mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Self-care can look like treating yourself to a special activity, setting and standing firm in your boundaries, taking time out of your day to attend a support group and more. How do you engage in self-care? Let us know in the comments. 💖

🧠 Last month, we hosted the 5th annual Redefining Crazy Conference: Rewriting the Rules—a gathering of mental health peers and professionals determined to build up mental health community and recovery through advocacy.

🧑🏽‍🏫Over three days, peers, advocates, and artists came together to reimagine our mental health systems through the lens of those with lived experience. Check out these highlights:

🫱🏼‍🫲🏿Angela Davis gave a keynote on collective freedom & peer support

👩🏼‍🎤We hosted breakout sessions around hip-hop therapy, housing justice, and creativity as rebellion 😄

😹Jenny Yang’s closing keynote focused on comedy as healing

🙏Thank you to everyone who was able to attend! We hope to see you back for our next RCC!

06/16/2025

At the Mental Health Association of San Francisco, we are committed to supporting mental health across the state of California twenty-four hours a day, every day of the year, through the good times and the bad times. In light of the recent ICE raids, we’re here to share information and resources with Californians who have been affected.

To anyone who has been experiencing anxiety, stress, grief, or any other emotional distress resulting from the inhumane and unjust raids sweeping through California, we want you to know that your thoughts, feelings, and experiences deserve to be heard. That’s what the California Peer Run Warm Line is here for.

Please don’t hesitate to call, text, or tell someone you know who could benefit from talking to a CA Warm Line Peer Counselor. We are people who have lived mental health experience and are available to open safe, confidential dialogues with Californians in need. Call or Text 855-600-WARM (9276) to speak with a counselor 24/7.

We want to share a huge thank you to the legislators of the State of California 🙏 Thanks to the actions of Senate and Assembly, the CA Peer Run Warm Line and the CalHOPE Warm Line have been approved for a baseline operating budget, allowing us to stay on the line for Californians who reach out for support!

Our efforts to save the CA Peer Run Warm Line aren’t slowing down! This is a huge step forward for our continued commitment to providing statewide mental health support, but we’re still pushing until the budget is finalized on June 30th.

Here’s how you can help:
• Call or email the Governor’s office between now and June 30th with this message: “Adopt the Assembly/Senate proposal for an additional $15 million for the CalHOPE Warm Line in SB 101.”;
• Keep SB 101 front and center in your subject lines, social posts, and calls—this way, state government staff instantly know what you’re talking about;
• Use the quick form at SaveTheWarmLine.org and share it with at least five contacts.

We are incredibly grateful to the legislators and constituents of the State of California—let’s keep working together so that the CA Peer Run Warm Line can always be there to answer the call ☎️
