Our mission is to provide & create a community space, where all feel welcomed, loved, and empowered. The Purusha Yoga classes are mindfully created with the guidance of classic philosophical ideas of the Eight Limbs of Raja Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga. We integrate these yogic ideas in all facets of our class, through the holistic approach, by connecting our physical practice to our consciousness and energetic bodies. As a Yoga Alliance registered school, we provide 200-hour and 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training, as well as a 800-hour Yoga Therapist training. For those who want to expand their learning and skills, we provide a Certified Yoga Therapy/Holistic Coaching Training, along with separate certifications for those who simply want to learn more about specific modalities, such as: Pilates, Thai Yoga Bodywork Massage, and Yin/Restorative Yoga. As a studio we offer numerous group classes such as Hatha/Raja Yoga, Vinyasa, Yin, Gentle Flow, Restorative, Yoga Fit Fusion, and Pilates. If you are looking for a personalized experience, we specialize in Holistic Services such as, Thai Yoga Bodywork, Integrative Yoga Therapy/Coaching, Personal Training/Nutrition, and Somatic Therapy. https://www.purushayoga.org/private-sessions

Welcome Julia, We are so excited to have you here!🤍

Julia Sunderland (she/her) is an enthusiastic student of the MindBody connection. As a D1 cross country runner in college, Julia started practicing yoga in 2012 to help her body recover from races and long runs. But what started as a purely functional practice evolved into an embodied spiritual practice as Julia became fascinated with tuning into the dynamics and the subtle wisdom of the human form. Drawn by her curiosity to learn more about the interplay between the mind and body, Julia became a RYT200 in 2022 and is currently in school to become a Clinical Psychologist with an emphasis on somatic modalities. Julia’s alignment-focused classes aim to deepen students’ connections with their bodies and their inner sense of strength and stability. Through her classes, Julia provides a playful space and encouragement for all types of students to live in their integrity through healing of their body, mind, and spirit.
