This week, we shine a light on the importance of healthy habits for children. Childhood obesity is a growing concern, but with the right support and choices, we can work together to promote healthier futures for our kids.

🥦 How You Can Help:
✅ Encourage balanced meals with fruits, vegetables, and whole grains
✅ Limit sugary drinks and snacks
✅ Promote physical activity—at least 60 minutes a day
✅ Prioritize screen-free time and better sleep routines
✅ Be a role model by practicing healthy habits as a family

Chinese Hospital was honored to welcome D11 Supervisor Chyanne Chen for a tour and thoughtful conversation on the challenges and opportunities facing community healthcare last week.

As a vital part of San Francisco’s safety-net system, we provide essential, culturally competent care to low-income, new immigrant, and aging populations every day. Yet, rising costs, workforce shortages, and limited resources are placing increasing pressure on our ability to meet growing community needs. Unlike larger institutions, we operate with fewer resources while serving some of the city's most vulnerable populations.

We shared our vision and upcoming initiatives to expand services, promote health equity, and strengthen access to care. But to bring these plans to life, strong government partnership and sustained support are crucial.

We are deeply grateful to Supervisor Chen for her time, insight, and commitment. Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive healthcare future.
