Forty years ago, San Francisco held its first AIDS Walk. For over half of that time—across Southern California and here at home in SF—I’ve been proud to lace up my shoes and fundraise for this cause.

As I embrace my first year of retirement and look toward new adventures, I’ve decided that this will likely be my final year fundraising for the AIDS Walk. This journey has always been deeply personal for me, and I want to finish strong.

Help me make this final year my most impactful yet. Every dollar goes directly toward health services for those living with HIV/AIDS.

In 2026, AIDS Walk San Francisco celebrates its 40th Anniversary, marking four decades of community-driven action against the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Established in 1987 as an urgent response to a public health crisis, the event has evolved into a powerful movement of compassion and resilience.

Over its history, the Walk has mobilized thousands of Bay Area residents and raised more than $100 million for organizations across seven counties. Today, it stands as the largest and most prominent HIV/AIDS fundraising event in Northern California, dedicated to honoring lives lost, supporting those living with HIV, and working toward a future where the disease is no longer a threat.
