Meditation saved me from depression and my father from stage 4 cancer. I believe meditation is the KEY to life.
But there's a problem.
Being Mindful is f*cking hard.
We live in a modern world. Trying to be mindful is like trying to meditate in the middle of a heavy metal concert. Work, family, kids, deadlines, stress come from all angles.
I'd go to meditation retreats (here's the story of my meditation in a cave with reincarnated monks in the Himalayas), feel great while I'm there, you know, the post-meditation-retreat-glow, but come back to pile of work, problem, etc. Sure, my mindfulness "baseline" has increased, but slowly and gradually, I'd go "mindless" again.
I had two options:
Option A: Meditation apps like Headspace or Calm.
Option B: Sign up to be a monk.
Problem?
Meditation apps are great only for beginners. And I don't want to sign up to be a monk (I love my wife).
That's why me and my team created Surya - It's a wrist wearable the size of Apple Watch built specifically for busy individuals who want to be mindful all the time, effortlessly, on command.
And it's simple.
1. It tracks mindfulness level in real time, in clear percentage
2. It gently notifies when mindfulness dips to bring you back to present moment
3. It gets you into deep meditative state in fraction of time (through neurofeedback)
