Wishing our Edgewood community a hopeful New Year. đź’™

As we close out 2025, gratitude is front and center—for the children, youth, and families who trusted us with their stories, and for the donors, partners, volunteers, and staff who made healing possible this year.

In 2026, Edgewood will celebrate 175 years of serving Bay Area children, youth and families, continuing to provide the people, place, and path for exceptional youth mental healthcare across the region. Thank you for walking alongside us and believing that every young person deserves safety, support, and hope.

From all of us at Edgewood: Happy New Year. đź’™

At this time of year, we’re reflecting on the power of simply showing up and never giving up. 💙

Two years ago, De’Andra’s 9-year-old daughter lost her father and was overwhelmed by grief. As a single mom who had also experienced loss young, De’Andra recognized her daughter’s pain but felt helpless to reach her.

Everything began to change when her daughter connected with Edgewood’s School-Based Behavioral Health Services and met Wendy, a caring clinician who helped her learn to trust again, share her feelings, and find her smile.

Thousands of youth across the Bay Area are carrying anxiety, grief, and trauma that’s too heavy for young shoulders. Your support helps Edgewood meet them where they are, with consistent, compassionate care that helps them heal.

Big gratitude shoutout to our neighbors at Colhado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy! đź’™

This small business hosted a toy drive and donated toys to Edgewood clients on campus, helping ensure every young person received a gift for the winter holidays.

We are so grateful for Colhado and all of our small business partners who show up for our youth and families in such thoughtful ways.

When Carmy first walked into Edgewood’s Drop-In Center, they thought they were just getting a tour. What they found instead was a community.

Between work and daily challenges, Carmy discovered essentials like food, hygiene items, and bus tokens, and something deeper: a safe, judgment-free space to rest, recharge, and simply be themself.

This is what belonging looks like. And it’s only possible because of supporters like you.
Your gift ensures that young adults like Carmy have a place to turn when they need support, connection, and hope. Because everyone deserves to feel a sense of belonging.

✨ Read Carmy’s story and help us keep these doors open for young adults who need connection and hope in our Impact Report: https://impact2025.edgewood.org/

Yesterday, our friends at Grosvenor brought back one of our favorite holiday traditions at Edgewood: the Gingerbread House Extravaganza! ✨🍕🏠
Volunteers and our Vicente Street campus youth came together to share pizza, listen to holiday music, and build the sweetest gingerbread creations—filling our space with laughter, creativity, and connection.
A huge thank you to the Grosvenor team for spending the afternoon with us and making the season a little brighter for our youth. We’re so grateful for your partnership and holiday spirit. 🎄

Because of you, grandparents like Debra can find hope.

When Debra became guardian to her grandchildren, Dreama and Derek‑Steve, a family crisis became a story of love, resilience, and healing through Edgewood’s Kinship Program. With therapy, guardianship assistance, and respite care, Debra found the support she needed to create stability and joy for her family.

Today, Dreama and Derek‑Steve laugh freely, surrounded by love and security, and Debra shares, “Edgewood helped me take care of my grandkids, but they also helped me take care of myself.”
This Giving Tuesday, your gift supports Kinship and the many programs that serve thousands of youth and families each year. And thanks to The Grace Magill Fund and our Board of Directors, every gift will be matched dollar‑for‑dollar, up to $26,891, doubling your impact for families like Debra’s.

Give today and help more caregivers and children find hope.

This Giving Tuesday, we honor 20 years of the Grace Magill Fund—a legacy born from one young girl’s boundless compassion and belief in giving. At just 10 years old, Grace donated her life savings of $14 to Edgewood. By 12, she was volunteering, tutoring, and lifting others through her conviction that “the most satisfying thing about donating is helping to enrich someone else’s life.”
Though her time was heartbreakingly short, Grace’s light still shines brightly, fueling programs in art, mindfulness, education, and family support that help young people heal and thrive. Learn more about Grace’s legacy and why Edgewood’s youth mental health mission matters from her mother, Anne Magill—Edgewood Former Board President, Former Auxiliary President, volunteer, and major donor.

As we celebrate two decades of Grace’s impact, we invite you to carry her spirit forward by joining our Giving Tuesday matching campaign. Every gift will be matched dollar‑for‑dollar, up to $26,891 through The Grace Magill Fund and our Board of Directors—doubling your impact for children and families who need it most.

Give boldly for youth mental health and help Grace’s light shine on.
