I am both proud and humbled to have been selected to fill an open Clinical Director-at-Large seat on the Board of Directors for the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), the state level professional organization for MFTs in California.

I look forward to advocating for my fellow therapists in California and Washington, D.C. I hope to see some of my fellow therapists at our Annual Conference in May in Union Square, San Francisco. We have a great lineup of speakers representing the broad spectrum of therapists and the clients we serve.

I am looking to hire a guest lecturer (paid) for an in-person (required) session in San Francisco on Wednesday, July 24, from 3 pm - 6:45 pm PDT, for a graduate level (Counseling Psychology MA) "Cross Cultural Aspects of Psychology" course I am teaching at Golden Gate University. Please contact me if this is something that you may like to do or if you may know someone local who may like to do it. Ideally, the session would focus on microaggressions and would involve facilitating role play with the students. I will discuss scope and payment via email: jzaratesanderlin@ggu.edu.

For my kinky therapist friends going to DO: Surrender, I am hosting an Ion on Sunday at lunch time as a therapist get together. DM me for details or see the program at the event.

On Friday, June 2, 2023, I received the Ted Mitchell Distinguished Adjunct Professor award from Golden Gate University. In 2022, I also received the Outstanding Adjunct Professor recognition from the university. Both awards reflect my commitment to the learning of my Counseling Psychology students including guiding them in the self examination that is vital to becoming an effective clinician. While it might seem obvious to thank the university, the true thanks goes to these students who do heroic work and show up in ways that make my work both more easy and more fulfilling.

Stop by Megahood (aka Folsom) Booth 1104 tomorrow and meet some of the amazing therapists that are a part of Bay Area Open Minds. We are a non-profit group of therapists and other helping professionals who work with those in the gender, sexuality, and open relationship communities with issues of mental health. I'll be there from opening (11 am) to at least noon.
