Verta Doll finally reached 100 followers on Tik Tok today! I know it doesn’t sound like a lot, but I couldn’t be happier! My goal is to get to 1000 followers so I can host some live tutorials and dolly get togethers. So if you’re on Tik Tok please go and follow me!

I made a few changes to the final accessories that come with each confectionary playset. Here is a look at the final accessory set. (There may be some variations within each set like color and shape). These will be available in my store at vertadoll.com at 12pm today psd.

Here is a closeup of the candy jars included in each Confectionary play set. These glass jars are full of custom made candy all in pastel colors. The four Confectionary play sets will be available in my shop at vertadoll.com on Saturday, December 7th at 12pm pacific time.

I was inspired by my time working as a park decorator at Disneyland when I designed these doll size confectionary play sets. One of my areas was Marceline’s Confectionary. I was so lucky to be able to create a Halloween and a Christmas overlay for the shop in Downtown Disney. The Halloween decor I designed was an ode to Nightmare Before Christmas, and for Christmas I fell in love with the tiny little houses I made into candy terrariums with twinkly fairy lights.

I honed my woodworking skills making these handcrafted confectionary cabinets complete with candy boxes, cakes, macarons, and candy-filled glass jars. The play sets are in 1/6 scale for Blythe, Barbie, Monster High, Rainbow High, YOSD, BJD 1:6 scale, or any 12” fashion doll.

There are four colors available
🩷blush pink
💙powder blue
💜lavender
💛light yellow

Each set includes
1 confectionary cabinet
1 stack of 4 confectionary boxes
2 cakes in boxes
1 cake on a doily
1 box of macarons
1 macaron tower
7 glass jars filled with candy

These four Confectionary play sets will be available in my shop at vertadoll.com on Saturday, December 7th at 12pm pacific time.

Welp, there goes all that mental health progress I was making. Before moving on I just want to say one thing. As the mother of kids with an immigrant father, and a young trans person, I want you to know that I see you and I’m here for you. I’m that parent at dance competition and baseball games, and in the classroom with my kids, that admired from afar and cheered on not just my own kids, but everyone else’s too…even the competitors. The same goes for everyone who touches my life, and even those who don’t. I see you, and right now I’m mad as hell and feeling activated. I’ve never been an activist and mostly I just stayed neutral, but it looks like some things need to change, because so many things are at stake. Be strong, and hopeful for the best outcomes. Take care of yourself and your mental health. Those are just some thoughts I wanted to touch on before moving forward.

Now let’s go to the space we hold for happiness and joy.

Birthday sale!! A little happy birthday to me, and a little happy birthday to you. All wigs in my Etsy shop are 25% off thru Sunday, November 10th.

I have merged my two Etsy shops: Verta Doll and Jenny Hogan Art into one! All doll wigs, accessories, and handmade items will now all be in my Verta Doll shop, and of course, my website. I have revamped all of the listings for my handmade velvet French cushions in the Etsy shop. There are quite a few colors and sizes now available!

It’s been a little over a year since I closed my brick and mortar Verta Doll shop. Truth be told, I lost my luster a bit over the last year or so. A very long term relationship break up, having to give up the shop (my happy space), some heavy family issues at home, a bunch of freelance work, and many demanding projects at my animation job, have kind of sucked the life out of me.
As the end of the year approaches, so does a work hiatus. I’ll have a couple of months to recharge and work on all of the projects I want to accomplish.
Don’t get me wrong, I did some incredible things over the past year too! My travel to China over the New Year was truly the most amazing experience I have ever had. My hosts (and now Chinese pen pals) were kind and hospitable, and I got the chance to learn how to root doll hair on a machine!
My daughter and I traveled to Vegas for Blythecon. I was so happy to make new dolly friends there and want to travel to every Blythecon around!
And finally, my daughter, Lizzie, and I traveled to Paris for Blythecon. Wow! Talk about another amazing trip! The artists there are (muah) chefs kiss.
So, I have a lot to catch up on here. Expect some things I was supposed to do months ago, like unbox the dolls I got from Gem of a Doll in China. Can you believe I have only looked at them once since I got back from China in January? I have neglected my dolls and I hope to get a little of my luster back before I dive back into a new project at my animation job.
I miss you dolly friends! And I hope to see you again soon!

We had such a lovely time at Lizzie and I made so many new dolly friends and she got her first Blythe! Of course we’re going to customize her with pink hair 🎀💖! Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and chatted and laughed and smiled. The venue was adorable and overall it was a blast! 🚀🚀🚀👽👽👽🛸🛸🛸
