7 classes. 7th grade. One powerful truth. 💜
The last 2 weeks, we had the honor of training every 7th grade student at Fernando Rivera in Be Sensitive, Be Brave for su***de prevention.
When we asked, “Do you know someone—or have you heard of someone—who is struggling with thoughts of su***de?”
Nearly every hand went up.
Our children are carrying more than we realize. They are listening to one another. Supporting one another. Showing up for one another.
Now they also know this: they do not have to struggle alone.
And being brave doesn’t mean handling it by yourself—it means asking the question about su***de and telling a trusted adult and getting support.
This wasn’t just a training.
It was a reminder that hope grows when we speak up, listen closely, and act with compassion.
✨ To every student: You matter. Your voice matters.
✨ To every adult: Be the safe place. Keep the door open.
Call to Action:
Let’s keep this conversation going—at home, at school, and in our communities.
✅ Check in with a young person this week
✅ Ask how they’re really doing
✅ Remind them they are never alone
💜 A BIG thank you to our incredible presenters, Lisa and Brenda. Marie for supporting us.
Your time, dedication, and unwavering commitment to su***de prevention and youth mental health made a powerful impact on every student you reached. Because of you, young people now know they are not alone—and that being brave means asking the question about su***de and telling a trusted adult.
We are so grateful for the passion, care, and heart you bring to this work. Lives are changed because of you. 💜
💛 Thank you to the incredible staff—the teachers who generously shared their class time and the counselors who continually support students with care and compassion. Your partnership made this work possible, and we are truly grateful. 💛
Together, we can Be Sensitive, Be Brave.
