Bikram's Beginning Yoga, the original hot yoga, is a unique 90 minute series of 26 postures, including 2 breathing exercises, performed in a specially heated room. Each posture stretches and strengthens specific muscles, ligaments and joints stimulating the organs, glands and nerves to move fresh oxygenated blood to 100% of the body. With regular practice, Bikram Yoga improves health, increases energy, helps prevent illness and injury and limits the effects of aging. As a physical challenge, the Bikram yoga changes the body’s shape, helps you to develop muscle tone and lose inches. As a mental challenge, this system combines the skills of concentration, patience and self-control to improve mental clarity and reduce stress. BYSJ welcomes all first time yoga students and regular practitioners!

Yoga in Action – Donation Drive – Rainy Day Essentials
Monday, November 24-Monday, December 15

Yoga in Action – donate rainy day essentials to the homeless
Provide socks, hats, umbrellas, and ponchos to local homeless folks. Socks should be warm and sturdy, umbrellas can be gently used, and everything else should be new only.

Bring donation items to BYSJ from November 24 to December 15.

Items and cash donations will be given to LiveMoves, providing homeless services and solutions to the South Bay.

BYSJ Posture Workshop: Compression and Stretching
Saturday, December 13 – 12:30 pm-2:30 pm

Meet the forward bends: compression and stretching – some of the most beneficial postures of the Bikram Yoga series. They work deeply on the spine and internal organs, and both require and foster precision and clarity in the mind.

Come to the next BYSJ Posture Workshop on Saturday, December 13, from 12:30 to 2:30 pm, to explore these postures and gain all the benefits they offer.

We will use preparatory and exploratory exercises and a selection of Bikram Yoga postures to teach you techniques to deepen your understanding and get the most from your practice.

Anyone can do it, and everyone is welcome.
