With the implementation of FEMA’s COVID-19 Funeral Assistance application process, Bay Area Mortuary is offering assistance with the application process to the families we served who experienced a COVID-19 related death.

Any family who paid funeral expenses for a loved one whose cause of death was determined to be “COVID related” could be eligible to apply for a reimbursement. Our funeral counselors are available to the families we served to answer questions about the process, who is eligible, what expenses are eligible for reimbursement, provide resources and links to additional information, and to offer support throughout the process.

We’d also like our families to know that if they were unable to have a full service because of COVID restrictions at the time of their loved one’s death, they can plan that service now and still request reimbursement. For more information, contact us at 408-998-2202.

Wow, what an unexpected surprise! Kaiser Permanente San Jose recognizes that we too are at high risk and play a crucial role during this crisis, so they sent us six boxes of absolutely DELICIOUS cupcakes! This crisis isn't just about saving lives...its also about respectfully taking care of those who succumb to the disease and creating a safe place for families to grieve. As Last Responders, the work that we do is oftentimes overlooked so this is so very much appreciated!

Thank you Mark Cuban for the kind words! Running at 110% while social distancing and trying to make meaningful memories can take a toll, but we are honored for the opportunity to help our community during this difficult time.

At Bay Area Mortuary, the safety of our customers and employees is our uncompromising priority, therefore, we are closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19). We are engaging daily with medical professionals, the Santa Clara County Public Health Department, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and other agencies as the situation evolves.

Bay Area Mortuary is open during normal business hours and taking proactive steps to promote wellness. In addition to increased sanitation efforts, we are encouraging telephone and video conference funeral arrangements, social distancing, and live webcasting of funerals, in an attempt to stop the spread of the disease.

We recommend the CDC’s website as a resource for ways that customers can best protect themselves from becoming ill.
