This holiday season, we’re thinking of one moment that reminds us why Gardner Health Services must continue to stand strong for our community. A 9-year-old child came to our new Alum Rock Health Center frightened—facing the possibility of losing teeth or part of their jaw. Thanks to our new CBCT machine, a special 3D scanner, and strong county partnerships, we acted immediately. The scan revealed a serious issue.
Because of the new state-of-the-art equipment at the Alum Rock Health Center and the collaboration of so many caring people, this child is on the path of treatment and we anticipate a positive resolution. But now, as we face deep uncertainty—threats to Medi-Cal, challenges to the Affordable Care Act, and rising gaps in coverage—we worry for the next patient who walks through our doors.
