Gardner Health Services joined behavioral health executives from across the state at the California Behavioral Health Association’s Advocacy Day in Sacramento. They met with state legislators to share the realities our communities and workforce face and to advocate for stronger investment in — and the preservation of — behavioral health services for all California residents.

Their conversations focused on three critical priorities: continued support for prevention services, expanding access to behavioral health services, and ensuring our workforce has the resources necessary to do their jobs, prevent burnout, and sustain the dedicated peers and professionals who care for our communities every day.

Anthem’s doula program started January 1, 2023, as a preventive health benefit for members with Medi-Cal. Anthem Blue Cross Medi-Cal members are eligible for one initial prenatal visit, up to eight visits during the perinatal period (either prenatal or postpartum), continuous labor and delivery support, and two extended postpartum visits with their doula. To request for this service at no-cost, please call the Customer Care Center at 800-407-4627 (TTY 711), Monday through Friday from 7am-7pm PST. https://mss.anthem.com/california-medicaid/home.html

We were honored to have our Outreach and Healthcare for the Homeless teams there providing flu shots, screenings and essential resources.
