Join Special Kids Connect for a fun Halloween event — just for special needs families. Carnival games, face painting, crafts, and more will make this a fun jam-packed two hours. Kiddos will get a plastic pumpkin tote, upon entry, to fill with prizes and giveaways offered throughout the event. Costumes are encouraged but are not mandatory.

Únase a Special Kids Connect para un divertido evento de Halloween, solo para familias con necesidades especiales. Juegos de carnaval, pintura facial, manualidades y mucho más harán de estas dos horas una experiencia llena de diversión. Los niños recibirán una bolsa de calabaza de plástico, al ingresar, para llenar con los premios y obsequios que se ofrecen durante todo el evento. Se recomienda el uso de disfraces, pero no es obligatorio.

Posted • It might not seem like a big deal—but if you’re a parent of a child with Down syndrome, you know just how hard these moments can be. We worry. We hover. We want to protect. And without meaning to, sometimes we hold them back.

But today, we let go—just a little.
And Jack? He walked out so proud, beaming ear to ear, Slurpee in hand like he had just conquered the world.

Watching him do something independently, on his own, was a reminder we needed:
They’re capable of more than we think.

We’re still learning. Still growing.
But today was a win for him—and a little lesson for us too. 💙🙌🏻😄

Saying goodbye is never fun, but it was time to say just that to Ms. Joyce Weldon who retired from after 20+years. She worked as a service coordinator in our Salinas office and supported so many over the years. We will miss her but wish her a very happy retirement! Cheers Joyce 🥂
