Three out of four car seats are not used or installed correctly. The right car seat can reduce the risk of injury in a crash by up to 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers. Join us for a Free Car Seat Check Event on Friday, September 19, from 10 am – 7 pm at Valley Health Center East Valley (just across the street from our hospital) in recognition of Child Passenger Safety Week. Certified technicians will be available to make sure your child’s car seat is the right fit, properly installed, and safe.

This event is free and open to the public—families are encouraged to bring their children. Space is limited, so please register in advance:

Extraordinary federal funding cuts are threatening programs and services that benefit our entire community.

The County faces more than $1 billion in federal funding cuts per year, which puts health care and food assistance at risk for tens of thousands of vulnerable County residents. These federal cuts will have a direct and unprecedented impact on the County’s public hospital and health care system, which provides critical and life-saving care to everyone in our community, regardless of insurance status.

Outpatient Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) services are now available at Valley Health Center McKee, located at 227 N. Jackson Avenue on our hospital campus. Since opening on April 1, Gastroenterology, General Surgery/Trauma, Hematology, Infectious Disease, Interventional Radiology, Neurosurgery, Optometry, and Plastics services have launched at the clinic site as well. We’re committed to expanding access to specialty care for our East San Jose neighbors.

Urgent care clinics are for people with non-emergency medical conditions, who need fast, safe, quality medical care. Valley Health Center East Valley is across the street from Regional Medical Center and offers walk-in and appointment pediatric and adult urgent care.

As the County-owned health and hospital system, Santa Clara Valley Healthcare hospitals, including Regional Medical Center, and clinics welcome and care for all patients.

County Executive James R. Williams issued a statement regarding the Federal Administration's actions to deny immigrants access to critical federally funded services.

“We are a nation and a community of immigrants. More than 40% of our residents in Santa Clara County are foreign-born. As a County, we believe that everyone in our community is welcome here, deserves to be safe, and should have access to the resources they need to thrive — which is what makes our entire community thrive. Indeed, our diversity is our strength.”

Dr. Kornelis Poelstra was named a 2025 Healthcare Headliner and received the Physician Award for his groundbreaking work in minimally invasive spine surgeries at Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. Michael Ciccolo received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to congenital heart surgery at Sunrise Children's Hospital.

Colleagues at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, Sunrise Children's Hospital, Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center, MountainView Hospital and our HCA Healthcare Far West Division offices proudly wore blue today to raise awareness and show support for National Child Abuse Prevention Day.

Every child deserves safety and care. Early recognition of warning signs can make a life-changing difference. If something seems off, speak up—your voice matters.
