Founded in 1973, AACI serves individuals and families with cultural humility, sensitivity and respect, advocating for and serving the marginalized and ethnic communities in Santa Clara County, CA. Our many provide care that goes beyond just health, but also provides people a sense of hope and new possibilities. Current programs include behavioral and primary health services, substance abuse prevention and treatment, center for survivors of torture, shelter and services for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking, senior wellness, youth programs, and community advocacy. Mục tiêu của chúng tôi là lắng nghe và học hỏi từ các thành viên trong cộng đồng địa phương về cách AACI có thể cải thiện việc tiếp cận cộng đồng và chia sẻ thông tin chăm sóc sức khỏe với bạn. Nếu bạn quan tâm đến việc trả lời một vài câu hỏi, vui lòng sử dụng liên kết bên dưới để đăng ký tham gia nhóm thảo luận. Số lượng có hạn! 🌕🎉 Huge thanks to the Korean American Community Foundation of SF for inviting AACI to the vibrant Chuseok Festival this weekend! We were honored to be part of such a joyful celebration of Korean culture and community.

Over 300 attendees stopped by our table to learn about mental health support for the Korean community, a powerful reminder of the importance of connection, care, and culturally responsive services.

September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month aimed at:
→ promoting su***de prevention,
→ advocating for mental health,
→ & recognizing the intersection between su***de and IPV

💔 Unfortunately, IPV (intimate partner violence) is a contributing factor for su***de, for both victims and people who harm. IPV-related su***des and intimate partner homicides move at a similar rate each year in the U.S. 💔

💜 When we provide support and services to those experiencing abuse, we are saving lives. If you or someone you know is experiencing intimate partner violence, please do not suffer in silence. Help is available and healing is possible. 💜

As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month this year, AACI attended the Latino Health Summit where regional leaders from the private, public, and nonprofit sectors came together to review the findings of the recent Santa Clara County Latino Health Assessment and brainstorm ideas to address the health disparities facing our communities. 📣

This assessment provides crucial insights into the Latino Community's health status and connects current health challenges to historical, political, and economic factors. Beyond presenting data, the assessment also includes actionable recommendations developed through input from both health experts and community driven voices, ensuring that solutions are both evidence-based and community-driven.

This disaggregated data is essential because it allow us to see beyond broad statistics and understand the specific needs and experiences within Latino communities, rather than treating them as a monolithic group. When we break down data this way, we can identify targeted solutions and ensure resources reach those who need them most.

At the summit, AACI proudly signed the pledge to promote the health and well-being of the Latino community. This pledge reflects our core mission to serve everyone in Santa Clara County and we are excited to collaborate with County agencies and community organizations to address critical needs with humility and cultural sensitivity.
