Mary Pat and Marcia wanted to do something thoughtful for their local community, so they gathered their fellow residents and handcrafted dozens of sweet greeting cards! They visited Santa Clara Valley Healthcare Medical Center and went room to room to deliver the cards along with words of encouragement and support.

Each month, both neighborhoods come together to explore a different country, diving into its rich history and vibrant culture. Through our Watermark University programs like Language Lab residents learn key phrases in the featured language and practice conversational skills with one another. With our immersive Engage VR program, residents enjoy 360-degree virtual tours of the country’s stunning landscapes and iconic cities. Our culinary team joins the journey by showcasing traditional dishes in live demonstrations, while residents and staff share personal stories and cultural insights from their own homelands, making each month a truly global celebration.

Happy Pride Month from everyone at The Watermark at San Jose! Throughout June, our Community Life team dedicated their efforts to educating and celebrating with our residents through a series of meaningful activities. We offered several Watermark University courses that explored the history of Pride, the gay rights movement, and the origins of drag culture. To conclude the month, we were thrilled to host our community’s very first drag show! A heartfelt thank you to Bonita Rose for bringing so much joy, fun, and love to our community through your incredible performance! 🏳️‍🌈🌈🎉
