🍂 Happy Sunday, San Jose! Fire Prevention Week starts today, and small steps can make home feel safer and calmer for you and your loved one. Swipe the carousel for our 4 Tips for Fire Safety at Home made for seniors and tired family caregivers.

🔔 Smoke alarms: test monthly, replace at 10 years, and place them in every bedroom, outside sleeping areas, and on every level. Interconnected is best. A chirp means fix it now.

🔥 Space heaters: give them 3 feet of space, plug directly into a wall, keep on a flat surface, and turn off before sleep or when you leave.

🔌 Cords & power: no daisy-chained power strips, no cords under rugs, and replace any cord that’s damaged or warm. Clear walkways to prevent trips.

🔋 Safe charging: use the right charger, don’t charge overnight, and keep devices on a hard, flat surface away from beds and exits. E-bikes and scooters? Charge outside if possible. If it smells, swells, or overheats, stop using it.
