Our Story

Physicians Medical Group of San Jose (PMGSJ) in San Jose, California, is a trusted medical group that has been serving the community of Santa Clara County for over forty years. PMGSJ is an Independent Physicians Association (IPA) that a group of dedicated physicians founded in 1980 to serve the diverse needs of their patients and our community. Physicians Medical Group of San Jose aims to make quality care accessible to as many people as possible. The extensive and diverse team of doctors collectively speaks over 30 languages and dialects, including Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin, and other dialects), Tagalog, Hindi, Korean, Farsi, and Urdu.

The association boasts a committed group of over 1000 physicians with advanced training across multiple specialties. There are over 250 physicians at Physicians Medical Group of San Jose who serve in the capacity of primary care, family practice, general practice, internal medicine, or pediatrics. The association also has 800 specialists that cover more than 40 disciplines, including obstetrics/gynecology. For the convenience of its patients, the Physicians Medical Group has over 460 office locations at which patients can receive expert care. All of our practices emphasize preventive medicine, maintaining a healthy diet, exercising regularly, having regular wellness visits, and staying up to date on immunizations. In the spirit of being wholly committed to the patients we serve, each physician at Physicians Medical Group of San Jose is available for acute, non-life-threatening health issues 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Patients can coordinate all of their health care needs with their PMGSJ primary care physician, including specialist referrals, urgent care services, emergency care, and hospitalizations.
