“How often do I need to see my chiropractor?” 👩🏻‍⚕️
A question I get all of the time.

Let’s break it down, as it depends on what you need…

If you have an active injury, I may be seeing you a bit more frequently in the beginning of care, & then as you heal, taper you off.

My goal has & always will be: to treat my patients less & less.
I adore all of my patients & would love to see them often, but I want them to be independent when it comes to their health. This means that they’ve reached maintenance care, & I get to be their guide along the way!

Just like the dentist, you should technically see your chiropractor forever. But forever doesn’t mean every day 😉

Common 🙅🏻‍♀️ Normal

Often times I hear patients say that their practitioners call their pain “normal”. Maybe the better term is ✨common✨

Some examples of common pain include:
- Low back & pelvic pain during pregnancy
- Neck pain & headaches from poor work posture
- Repetitive hip clicking in runners

By describing pain as normal, we are downplaying the patient’s experience & discomfort.
Some might not even seek out treatment, because they thought “normal” meant that nothing that can be done about it!

Common causes of pain are never normal experiences for people, but rather the body trying to tell us something.

Let’s do better by rethinking our vocabulary— our patients will thank us 😉

Let’s clarify some things on what manual adjustments can and can’t do! 🦴

Contrary to what you might think…
- They don’t move the bones
- They don’t crack the bones
- And we don’t recommend you to try to be your own chiropractor either 😜

I’m all about full transparency and education with my patients.
So what are some things you’ve heard about chiropractic that you have questions about?

In my website ✨The Maternal Motion✨
my goal is to debunk common myths previously believed to be true, in the prenatal fitness world.

Myths such as…
- Lifting weights are dangerous
- If you weren’t doing physical activity before pregnancy, you can’t start during pregnancy
- You could be doing more important things than stretching + recovery

Never fear, as I’m here to tell you that there are A LOT of false and fear based misinformation out there, and almost everything can be modified to fit your goals and needs!

Upper & Lower Crossed Syndrome… aka Silicon Valley Syndrome 💻

I’m a chiropractor working deep in the heart of the Silicon Valley. This means that the majority of my patients have careers in the tech world and will often present with:

Tight
- [ ] Upper traps
- [ ] Pec major & minor
- [ ] Hip flexors

Weak
- [ ] Deep neck flexors
- [ ] Mid back muscles
- [ ] Abs
- [ ] Glutes

A combination of stretches for the tight muscles and exercises for the weak muscles, are great ways to undo the long hours seated at work.

Pairing that with in office chiropractic adjustments and soft tissue mobilization… and voila ✨ You’ve got a fail proof treatment plan to keep your body running optimally!

Do you or someone you know, sit a lot for work and can benefit from chiropractic care?

You know where to find me 🙋🏻‍♀️

“Doing the most” is out for 2026 ✨

I like to meet patients where they’re at, so the “less is more” approach is the way to go.

For example:
- It’s better to stretch in short increments of time every day, than 30-60 minutes worth every once in a while.
- There’s no need to change up your workout routine every time you go into the gym! Stick with a few movements and progress them over time instead.

The key here is ✨consistency✨ and our bodies LOVE it. When we try to throw too much at them, they get confused and won’t perform optimally!

Let’s try to focus on doing what works instead ✨

Ice or Heat: When to know which one to use!

🧊 is helpful for new & sudden injuries, especially when inflammation is present.

🔥 is helpful for older injuries and joint & muscle pain, when inflammation isn’t present.

Some people find relief in both modalities for their acute or chronic injuries, so be sure listen to your body’s needs.

Note: While ice & heat aid with temporary pain relief, they should be paired with other modalities (ex. gentle range of motion, strength training & rehabilitative exercises) for the most effective outcome!
