Today, my heart swells with pride and joy as I watch my firstborn, my precious son, walk across that stage and receive his high school diploma. From the moment you were born, I knew this day would come, but nothing could have prepared me for the whirlwind of emotions that comes with it. You have grown into such a remarkable young man—smart, kind, and determined. Watching you chase your dreams has been the greatest honor of my life. 🌟

To all the new mothers out there, I want to share a piece of my heart with you. I remember the early days with my newborn like they were yesterday—those sleepless nights, endless diaper changes, and the constant worry if I was doing things right. It’s tough, it’s exhausting, and sometimes, it feels like you’re on a never-ending rollercoaster. But trust me when I say this: you are stronger than you know, and these moments, as hard as they are, will pass.

I see this in my practice all the time! A release done at the hospital may achieve some pain relief for the parent which is important in most cases, but likely isn't enough to support the elevation of the tongue that is needed for proper suck and swallow. This is why babies post hospital tongue tie release sometimes don't feed better.
It is important to remember that when feeding hasn't improved and/or you are still triple feeding or using a ni**le shield.
Simply releasing the frenulum without further assessment and oral habilitation plan may not improve oral function.
