1️⃣ Set a Clear Intention: Begin each journaling session with a specific goal in mind. It could be to explore your emotions, set intentions for the day, or brainstorm solutions to challenges you're facing.

Welcome! Curious about how the combination of therapy and yoga works? As a therapist and yoga teacher, I have seen the power of yoga and traditional therapy help individuals heal on a deep, more intergrated level.

Trauma can leave deep scars and therapy can access only a part of it. Yoga allows us to revisit parts of ourselves and intergrate mind and body.

Parentification occurs when parents look to their children for emotional and/or practical support. A child is then forced to grow up faster and give up much of their childhood experiences to fulfill the needs of the parents and the home. Emotional parentification happens when a child becomes the parent’s confidant or caretaker. Sometimes older children are tasked to take care of younger siblings or step into a parental role when one parent is absent, physically, or emotionally. This is a very common phenomenon, and you probably know people who fall into this category. Often, they present are strong, ‘mature for their age’ and able to multitask. Be curious though, sometimes the strongest people around us were often neglected as children and missed out on vital childhood experiences.

Ambiguous losses are ones that happen often without closure or can be complicated and abstract. When we start to identify the types of losses that feel intangible, it can be revealing and overwhelming. There is a grieving process that is needed to work through difficult feelings related to ambiguous loss. Similar to trauma, accepting and understanding the loss gives you permission to live fully and with intention. Most people are dealing with layers of ambiguity and loss, throughout their lives. You are not alone!
