VHP is proud to sponsor and support the County’s Reentry Resource Center’s annual Reentry Rise Up and Run fundraiser. This meaningful event helps fund clothing and essential items for those newly released from custody.

Special gratitude to the County of Santa Clara () and County’s Parks () for organizing the wonderful event and many thanks to all participants for running, walking, and/or donating. Every registration matters and helps support those in need.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to supporting justice-involved individuals with resources and services as they reenter our communities and rebuild their lives.

This day is a reminder for women age 40 and older, or those with risk factors, to talk with their doctor about a mammogram. A mammogram is a simple X-ray of the breast that can find cancer early, sometimes up to 3 years before it can be felt. Detecting breast cancer early makes it easier to treat and can save lives.

Did you know?
• Breast cancer screening with mammograms is a covered preventive service for Valley Health Plan members.
• Women over 75 may not need regular breast cancer screenings, but it’s still important to talk with your doctor to understand your personal risks and decide what’s right for you.

Take charge of your health today.
Talk to your doctor about scheduling your mammogram.

Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in women after skin cancer. It happens when cells in the breast grow out of control, taking over space meant for healthy cells. Thanks to advances in medicine, many people are now treated successfully and go on to live full, healthy lives.

Know Your Risk
Understanding your risk for breast cancer is an important part of prevention and early detection. Age is one factor. Other risk factors include:
• A personal or family history of breast or ovarian cancer
• Certain non-cancerous breast conditions

Take charge of your health today.
• For women age 40 and older, or those with risk factors, talk to your doctor about scheduling your mammogram.
• Women over 75 may not need regular breast cancer screenings, but it’s still important to talk with your doctor to understand your personal risks and decide what’s right for you.
