🚨¡SALVEMOS LA ACUPUNTURA!🚨El Gobernador Newsom propone eliminar la cobertura de acupuntura para miles de personas que dependen de Medi-Cal en California. La acupuntura ha ayudado a muchas personas a vivir con el dolor crónico de manera natural, a prevenir problemas de salud más graves y a reducir la dependencia de opioides y otros medicamentos fuertes. Quitar el acceso a este beneficio preventivo afectará especialmente a comunidades trabajadoras, adultos mayores y familias de bajos ingresos, y podría generar costos aún mayores para Medi-Cal en el futuro.

Acompáñenos junto al Supervisor Danny Sauter, Abogado de la Ciudad de San Francisco David Chiu, NEMS, funcionarios electos y líderes comunitarios este jueves 28 de mayo a las 9:00 AM en Portsmouth Square, en el Chinatown de San Francisco, para alzar la voz y oponernos a la eliminación de los beneficios de acupuntura de Medi-Cal.

🚨SAVE ACUPUNCTURE!🚨Governor Newsom is proposing to eliminate acupuncture for thousands of Californians on Medi-Cal. Acupuncture is an effective and holistic method for pain management and has been linked to a lower dependence on opioids and other pain medications. Eliminating access to this critical preventative service is shortsighted and will result in much greater costs to Medi-Cal in the future.

Join Supervisor Danny Sauter, San Francisco City Attorney David Chiu, NEMS, and other elected officials and community leaders on Thursday, May 28, at 9:00 AM for a press conference at Portsmouth Square in San Francisco’s Chinatown to oppose the proposed elimination of acupuncture benefits from Medi-Cal!

The VIP Lounge Show will feature NEMS OB/GYN Physician Team Leader Dr. Rena Hu and Comprehensive Perinatal Health Worker Jun Li on KTSF, airing TONIGHT, 5/14, at 8:30 PM and again on Sunday, 5/17, at 9:30 PM! 🎥✨ (The show will be presented in Mandarin.)

During the segment, Dr. Hu and Jun will cover women’s health topics such as pregnancy after age 35, prenatal care, menopause, hormonal changes, and urinary leakage. They will also introduce NEMS’ Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP), which provides free support services for eligible pregnant women, including nutrition counseling, behavioral health support, and acupuncture. 👩‍⚕️ 🤰 ✨

The AANHPI community has unique healthcare needs, including language challenges, differences in health practices, and limited availability of affordable healthcare services. North East Medical Services (NEMS) is committed to bridging these gaps and providing high-quality, language-concordant care to all members of the AANHPI community, regardless of their ability to pay.
